It was a fairly good week, although we got weathered out a couple of days. The attendance was up 20% this year over last I was told. The crowd certianly SEEMED bigger. There was a NEW act the first few days that completely stole the show... Jimmy Franklin in the Jet WACO...Bulldog in his Pitts...and Sampson...all screaming aroung the sky in 'mock' low level dogfights...while Shockley makes high-speed runs in the jet truck....all set to Rock and Roll music.... The 2nd day they did it...people were RUNNING out of the fly market to watch! Noticed the C-47 with invasion day stripes and wondered if you knew if it was from around the Texas area. Saw one fly ofer my house yesterday (Saturday) after it had taken off Addison Airport in the Dallas area. Had invasion day stripes just like the one in the picture and wondered if it might have come from Oshkosh and dropped someone off at the Cavanaugh Flight Museum at Addison. Havent seen it in the area before.The older I get the less I care who I piss off. There were six DC-3's up there this year...kinda makes yer mouth water! Of course because of insurance problems....no one will let ya even NEAR their bird with a parachute! Not even an old buddy...that flew his own 3 in from 'Nordacody' (cough...cough, sorry Scroates, I WILL keep asking!) If you've never been to Oshkosh...I highly recommend it at least once.
