LITTLE ROCK (AP) - About a hundred supporters of three men convicted in the 1993 sexually charged slaying of three 8-year-old boys gathered this morning in front of the state Capitol. Backers of Jason Baldwin, Damien Echols and Jessie Misskelley, known to sympathizers as the West Memphis Three, unfurled a banner of postcards asking for the men to be freed.

The postcards, from as far away as The Netherlands, also showed skylines of Chicago, Cleveland and Portland, Oregon, as well as a silhouette of Florida, outlining the wide interest the case has drawn over the years. Kody Bradshaw, a 19-year-old from Gurdon, says he and his mother have bought T-shirts and bracelets that contributed to a legal defense fund for the Three. Among the supporters to be on hand today is Dixie Chicks member Natalie Mains.

Governor Beebe says the courts will have to address concerns of supporters of the three men, convicted as teenagers of the killings in West Memphis. Supporters of Baldwin, Echols and Misskelley claim prosecutors and a small-town police force pursued the three because of the teens' interest in heavy metal music and the occult. Attention from celebrities has helped the three raise money for their appeals, which include new DNA testing.

An appeal filed in October indicates much of the physical evidence failed to yield reportable DNA results. However, on evidence that could be tested, court filing show the lab found no traces of the three convicted for the slaying. Governor Beebe says he won't commute the sentences of the three or grant them pardons. The governor says the three can seek relief through the courts.

Ha ha. I guess that's what happens when you don't confirm what you heard. Sorry for the speculation. Guess their situations still pending.

From everything I've read it really seems that these 3 were railroaded into prison by a court that only wanted a conviction and not the truth. Sad how they talk so highly of DNA evidence when it sways in the favor of the prosecutor but rebuked when it doesn't.
Justice wasn't served in that court.
