3fLiEr 0 #1 December 5, 2001 Does anyone know if it is possible to obtain the information contained on the cypres unit when sent back to Airtec about the speed and height it fired. I have requested that this information is given to me when I sent my Cypres back for a new cutter - will they supply me with this information??bsbd"In a world where we are slaves to gravity I am pleased to be a freedom fighter"
Jon 0 #2 December 5, 2001 Probably not. I am guessing that if the unit could record that information that it would say 750ft and >78 mph. (Or what ever it take for a cypress to fire.) You have to think that it thought you were too low going to fast and fired your reserve. But I could be wrong.
diverdriver 5 #3 December 5, 2001 I believe that if you ask nice and talk to the right people that they would supply that information. I know that Airtec has supplied info like that in Fatality cases I've been involved with. It will even supply info on exit altitude, fall rate, initial main deployment, cutaway altitude, and yes, where the cypres actually activated at.Ask nicely now.Chris
wildblue 4 #4 December 5, 2001 Actually, the cypres does record a good deal of information when it fires. They'll probably give it to you, I don't see why they wouldn't. What exactly are you looking for? Do you think it fired too high?I ain't happy, I'm feeling gladI got sunshine, in a bag
rgoper 0 #5 December 5, 2001 if you inquire, they will provide you with the requested information, but as previously instructed, ask nicely. from reading your posts, i think i know why you want to know, but if you had an "expert" model, i doubt it will help you in your situation.Richard
3fLiEr 0 #6 December 5, 2001 I did have an expert model and I am not asking for the reasons you think - I am just curious of actual data as eye-witnesses I have spoken too believe the Cypres fired around 600ft.............. man i must of looked huge!!I am just curious thats all............ I aint trying to prove I did not phuq up .......... coz i quite clearly did.......... and for all of you newbies out there........... this happened after my having going on 400 jumps........... if you dont think it can happen to you........... a momentary phuq up............. think again................ it can happen to any of us............... take note........ be safe......... have fun.............. play hard.....................bsbd"In a world where we are slaves to gravity I am pleased to be a freedom fighter"
