pilotdave 0 #1 April 3, 2002 Expect my server to go down tonight. No idea when it'll be back up. I'm installing a new motherboard/processor, so it might take a while. Once it's up and running again though, it'll be much faster, have a lot more memory, and should hopefully be more reliable. Don't know when I'm going to start...lots of work to do tonight... so it could go down any time. Wish me luck!Davehttp://www.skydivingmovies.com

Viking 0 #4 April 3, 2002 speaking of your server, i don't know if its my end, but when i d/l stuff the k per sec will skyrocket then lvl out and the slowly drop back down to like 6-7kps has anyone else had this happen? I am on a 256k DSLI swear you must have footprints on the back of your helmet - chicagoskydiver
pilotdave 0 #5 April 3, 2002 Quotethe k per sec will skyrocket then lvl out and the slowly drop back down to like 6-7kps Hmmm.... don't know why that would happen. Max download rate is set to 100 or 200 K/sec (can't remember what i last left it at), and there are no other "set" limits. I'm guessing there's just some kinda slowdown somewhere between us. When I was gone for spring break, the server ran unattended for over 9 days. The average transfer rate over that time (including any time there were no downloads going) was about 39 K/sec. The only people to push the rate limit are the college studentsDave.http://www.skydivingmovies.com
