I'm SCARED!

Recommended Posts

I read my mail from IRS and if I was of retiring age right now my benifits would be $1400 a month!
I'm 43 and I don't have alot of confidence it will change that greatly 22 yrs from now!It had listed every year sine I started working 1986 (I was in 11 grade) $581 !
the most I ever made was in 1994 over $36,000
The whole list of years went up and down like a roller coatser! hahaha
When I think of the post from here from people worried about turning 30 it makes me laugh and sick (for myself)at the same time!
I don't think I'll ever retire like some people do!

Anyone below the current retirement age that is depending on Social Security to support them in their old age had better wake up to the fact that it's probably NOT going to be there when you need it.

I look at Social Security as a HUGE whole in my paycheck from which I'll NEVER see any benefit.

Plan your life accordingly.

I feel the same way! Always have..
Seeing it in black and white proves it!haha
Guess I should always look for jobs that pay more!
Keep the one I got until then, be good at what I do,
Stay educated(classes, school etc.)
and play the lottery every once in awhile!

I should have changed the post title to someting besided "Scared"
maybe "I'm broke" har har

Unfortunately that was never the way the system was set up.

Are you familiar with the term "Pyramid or Ponzi Scheme"?

Social Security is -exactly- like a pyramid or ponzi scheme where current payouts are being funded by the people that will -eventually- be eligible for payments. If -our- money were to be taken out of the system at this point, the system would collapse. AARP isn't -ever- going to let US remove ourselves from the system. The system will have to die another way, but I'm almost certain it will die before I ever have a chance to collect a penny.
