skydiverkeith 1 #1 June 4, 2010 A bit of an odd question. I have a Sabre 150 that packs very tight in my container. Does anyone know if a Storm, Pilot, or Safire 2 of equal size would pack smaller?Blue skies, Keith Medlock
ryanl2006 0 #2 June 4, 2010 The Storm will pack smaller. A standard ZP pilot will pack bigger, but a ZPX pilot will pack a bit smaller. I don't know about the safire 2.
kingbunky 3 #3 June 4, 2010 a storm (or any other 'square' 7 cell) would probably pack a little smaller while a pilot (or any other 'square' 9 cell) would probaby pack similar, if they were measured the same way.edit to add, forgot about the zpx option on the pilot. in theory, teh 150 zpx pilot would pack like a 135 zp "Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." Zymurdoo 0 #5 June 5, 2010 Check out Sandy Reid's pack volume chart at the Rigging Innovations webpage. He found long ago that there can be huge variances in pack volumes of canopies with the same advertised size. http://www.rigginginnovations.com/forms-docs/documents/pia%20volume%2006-09.pdfBlue Skies, Soft Docks and Happy Landings!
