nigel99 151 #1 August 10, 2004 Does anyone on here know much about embedded OS's? I am doing work for a client and it seems to me that Windows CE is the worst possible implementation of an Embedded OS possible. I am not keen on these desktop OS's shrunk down (WinCE & Linux) but as it is not my field I am reluctant to push something like VXWorks without knowing some background.Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived. hipgnosis 0 #2 August 10, 2004 I do a lot of embedded development under WinCE. I'm curious as to why you consider it a bad implementation. While it has it's idiosyncracies (like all OS's), it doesn't have any real major problems. Also, you do realize that it isn't just Windows Light. The kernel, threading, device driver architecture, are all quite different from desktop kernels. Perhaps if you supplied a bit more information on just what you are trying to do for your client....
