Windows Explorer (xp) file listing query

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know how to convert the files listed on a directory into an editable textual list (.RTF or .TXT for example) ? I used to be able to use the Lotus123 spreadsheet to do it many moons ago but not sure of any method available through XP today. I'd rather not install any independant software.

I stir feelings in others they themselves don't understand. KA'CHOW !

From the "Command Prompt" (Start -> Run -> cmd), go to the desired directory and type "dir > filename.txt".

cd \windows
dir /B > c:\output.txt

The output from "dir" command will be inserted in the file created as "c:\output.txt".

*sorry about my bad english
