reserve bridal visible

i have just had my reserve repacked in my odyssey and noticed what looks like the bridal visible under the side of the bottom closing flap,it seem like it could snag something or get grass,dirt ect in there.is this normal on this container.

Depending on the size of the container it's very difficult to completely hide the bridle. Looking straight on from the back you shouldn't see any bridle. But looking at it from the side you often can see under the flaps and see the bridle. This is especially true with very small containers. The bridle is the same width and size on each rig. But with smaller flaps there is less room to hide and cover the bridle it's often visible from the side.

This is especially true if the reserve doesn't completely fill the container. It can be safe and appropriately sized but still not particularly tight. If the bridle is well contained, only visible looking under the flaps from the side, and the pilot chute cap is seated below the sides of the container, it's probably fine. Ask your rigger, or seek a second opinion from someone who can look at it. The variation in distribution of the bulk of the canopy between pack jobs and by different riggers can make it look better or worse.

But the simple fact that you can see bridle from a particular angle doesn't necessarily mean that it wrong. As it settles it may not be as visible.

It won't get grass and dirt if you stand up when you land.

How much of it can you see? Is it really a potential snag hazzard? If you are even a little nervous about it, walk it back to the rigger and gently ask him if he could have perhaps dressed the container a bit better. You're the customer, don't be intimidated, ask questions on the DZ, and don't let it go until you are satisfied.
