Lindsey 0 #1 June 10, 2008 A few years ago I read Poisonwood Bible and Prodigal Summer. Both were excellent! I love her writing style. Almost want to go back and re-read those two books, but tonight I'm gonna start on The Bean Trees. Anybody else read her novels? I also have REALLY loved Tom Robbins, but I think I've read all of his...lol. They crack me up....Half Asleep in Frog Pajamas...HAHA!!! Anyway, I'm ready to start reading again for the fun of it. Anybody else??? linz-- A conservative is just a liberal who's been mugged. A liberal is just a conservative who's been to jail
NWFlyer 2 #2 June 10, 2008 Nope, I've only ever read Animal, Vegetable, Miracle, which I did really enjoy. Maybe I should go back and read some of her novels."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. And with it comes the only basic human duty, the duty to take the consequences." -P.J. O'Rourke
Shepp 0 #3 June 11, 2008 I had to read The Bean Trees in high school, and I ended up liking it so much, I read everything she ever wrote. In my personal opinion, her fiction is better than non, but both have a quality to them that makes them a pleasure to read.Experience is a hard teacher because she gives the test first, the lesson afterward. Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.
Lindsey 0 #4 June 12, 2008 When I read her other two novels a few years ago, I had just been on another Anne Rice kick--her witch books. I love her writing too. BK's is so light and just fun to read though. Even Poisonwood Bible. THAT is an awesome book, btw.-- A conservative is just a liberal who's been mugged.
