EDYDO 0 #1 September 3, 2004 My Neptune and my computer have both been doing just great. Now Neptune has version 2.1.5 and Windows XP has Service pack 2. Sometimes these updates create problems where none previously existed, at least for certain users. I KNOW Service Pack 2 is creating problems with some software. So that begs the question, when do we update and when do we leave well enough alone? Ed
AggieDave 6 #2 September 3, 2004 So far just about every Neptune on my DZ has updated and so far no one has had any problems. service pack 2...well, thats a whole 'nother story.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." FrogNog 1 #3 September 3, 2004 XPSP2 wasn't really released to make peoples' computers work "better". It was released to make them work "more securely." If your machine is not going to be attacked by bad people on the Internet somehow, then you probably don't need XPSP2. But, hackers are like skydiving problems: you don't find them, ... And, look at the sunny side: if XPSP2 hoses your machine beyond relief, you can always reinstall your OS and start over. -=-=-=-=- Pull.
