3rd times a charm

Recommended Posts

After messing up my last two IAF level 4 jumps I talked to two instructors about maintaining my arch, and just being relaxed and taking deep breaths during the jump. I'm glad to say i finally past this level, now its on to the next one... one step closer to my A license!!B|

Don't be hard on yourself. You did not "mess them up"; you simply needed to practice, under considerable mental stress, those still- very-unnatural (to a student) skill sets more than once to develop proficiency. Even though each student jump is very expensive, student jumps are not examinations, they are training. Did you master parallel parking the very first time you tried it? I'll bet you didn't. Skydiving is no different than any other new skill set that requires repitition to master.

So please, do not think of student jumps in terms of "pass" or "fail". They are simply training; they're practice. However many times it takes to practice one new skill set to become proficient enough to move on to the next new skill set, that's what it takes.

I'm in miami and the closest wind tunnel is in orlando 3.5 hours away [:/]

That means you're very close to a tunnel, not far from one. You're in an enviable position: you can visit the tunnel in a single day's driving trip and sleep in your own bed at home that night. Because of the relative scarcity of tunnels, far more people in North America cannot do that, than can.
