A group of athletes went parachute jumping from the tower just after noon on Thursday. The parachute of one of the women got caught on a walkway railing surrounding the top of the tower, and the woman hit the wall of the tower in view of the rest of the athletes. NTV television reported that the woman was an Austrian citizen. It took rescuers about half an hour to get to the top of the tower, from where they removed her by using ropes. Unconscious, she was taken to the hospital in severe condition. The parachute contest continued, however, after an announcement was made that the woman was alive and would recover, NTV television reported. pikkumari 0 #2 July 2, 2004 A couple of my friends are there so this is what I heard: she had line twists and a 180 in opening and hit the tower repeatedly before getting hung on one of the lights on the tower. She is currently in intensive care and stays there for the next nine days or so while her possible head injuries are being monitored. Let's hope she will recover without any permanent damage soon!
