The facilities are pretty awesome. Nice big covered packing area, free tea and coffee. And I found the staff quite friendly towards sporties, most introduced themselves and had a friendly chat. But thats about it though.

They`ve just put there prices up to NZ$60 a jump ticket!!! Everywhere else in NZ is $35 and you`ll always be going solo. Even if you want to jump with a friend it`s unlikely.

And there XLR8 program (just a flashy name for AFF) is incredibly expensive and I`ve heard from people that have sadly done it, that the instructors can`t really be bothered with you and they`ll purposly fail you on some stages to get even more money out of you. I didn`t do it there (thank god) so I`m only going on what I`ve heard from people i`ve spoken to.

Glenorcy is the place to head for some sport jumps. Increadable scenery!! A nice small friendly DZ with a Porter or head up to Skydive Able Tasman in Motueka.

Blue ones!!!

My wife and I only did 1 jump but the staff and head DZ instructor did everything they could to get us our temporary NAIP license and get us on the final load. I would recommend this DZ to any one looking to see an amazing view. Just expect to wait around for a while for a jump or two. But it is well worth it.

Queenstown is filled with tourists looking for a safe way to get a video of them looking like they are trying to get themselves killed. NZONE fits the bill fully! They are a great, professional outfit with what appeared (to a first-timer) to be good equipment and a good plane. Each staffer was friendly and helpful. My jump went perfect, and the DVD and photos were simply awesome.

The only slight negative is the price. It is a decent amount more expensive to jump here than most places. Most places seem to offer a video option for 89 or 99 bucks, it was twice that here (even accounting for exchange rate).

PROS
+ Nice covered packing area
+ water cooler
+ nice scenery
+ everything is spotless

CONS
+ A rip off! They charge $80 for your first jump, (extra charge is supposed to be for a 2 second gear check and non existent safety briefing, anywhere else in nz it is $35 )and $45 for your next jumps (though if you buy 10 consessions its $40 a jump)

+Unsurprisingly there arent too many sporties to jump with

+ not very friendly to sporties as they are a tandem operation, jump staff are busy, and only really jump with each other.

+i always seemed to get bumped off loads.

better to try glenorchy.
