I have been to quite a few dropzones in Germany and in other Countrys and if I could choose from any, I'd probably would stick to Skydive Saulgau.

The Staff is very friendly and professional, the plane is a fast Cessna Caravan and the landing area is almost to big ;-)

I am jumping here now for 3 years and I enjoy every Weekend that I spend there.

I came to Saulgau after returning from Canada, just because it was the closest turbine DZ from Stuttgart. I found it to be a great place with very experienced jumpers (There's also a number of regulars from different US installations), very friendly staff and a really good vibe. That's why I made it my new home DZ. They have free camping, pay-per use showers (0,50 EUR/use) and good restaurants in range if there doesn't happen to be a BBQ. You will definitely have a good time here.

Even though there's no bunkhouse, there are hotels and hostels closeby for those who don't like (free) camping.

DZ coordinates:
Lat: 48° 1'46.74"N
Lon: 9°30'23.39"E

Being worried about not being able to skydive while here in Germany, my wife and I found Saulgau to be a very friendly place to jump. Nice planes and no attitudes. Not even to a couple newbies that barely know enough deutche to get on the manifest. The restaurant is great and the facilities are the same. English speaking instructors. This place will definately do until we get back to The Skydiving Place in NC.

Fast turbine aircraft, clean showers and restrooms, plenty room for camping, nice fireplace, a lot of space to land.
Very professional staff with englich speaking instructors. USPA members are very welcome.
NEW since May 2004: PowerCessna 182 with 300 HP for small loads during the week. Get you up in 17 Min. to 12200 ft above the ground.
A perfect plane in addition to the caravan.
