  1. Thanks for all the responses, words of encouragement and discouragement. Thanks for the stories too SEREjumper and JohnMitchell. BLM land is legal for aerial entry for BASE jumpers, hopefully skydiving also, will inquire with BLM. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BASE_jumping), scroll down to "Legal Issues" Stopped watching Bear Grylls when I watched this video, he's talented, but somewhat of a phony (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UpSlpvb1is&feature=related) A lot of stuff he does set up obviously beforehand too. 9) Jump with your phone.........rent a satellite phone. If it is legally possible to do a jump/camp trip with no one getting in possible trouble, we will when the time comes. Thanks everyone for the ideas!
  2. My friend and I (both have class A's) want to jump over a National Forest and backpack out (camping). Meeting our friends on the ground with our backpacking gear, 20 lbs. of gear plus our rigs, were minimalist. We don't plan on trying it until were well into class C. Has anyone here tried it/done it? I know its early in our skydiving life to be planning this, but if its doable it gives me/us a goal to look foward to. If its not, I will still love jumping as much as I do, fun with good people is goal enough! Any idea of what needs to be done would be helpful (inform air space, find a commercial pilot with right aircraft, right/safe weather, ect.) Also any reasons why we shouldn't are appreciated. Thanks in advance!
  3. Done with Class A! Still hoards more to learn, what a better place to learn (dropzone.com) from the experienced while not in the sky or at the DZ! Please don't be mean to the newbie! Cheers and the bluest skies to all!
