  1. Its odd he said nothing about founding fathers risking anything for freedom. I am all for racial equality but if your going to shoot off your mouth at least cover all the bases, not just ones you think are advantageous.

  2. I'm sorry but I have a stupid question. I cant judge how high he was, maybe some of you with bunch of jumps can. If he was below safe cutaway altitude what happens if he just fired reserve? I know having two out isnt good but what would been downside?

  4. So I get informed at work I'm out of time to take my last two weeks of vacation, or I lose them. OK cool, I'll take one week now and other next month and spend my week getting off student status. I go by the bank get a grand out and go home and pack a bag. So I get up at six call my DZ and its 30 degrees and 25 mph wind. Weather guy said would be in 60's and light wind. I need a job where I can be wrong everyday and not lose my job like weather guys or gals.

  5. Why look up? My instructor wont let me use a camera.

I'm not an expert by any means but lot of people refer to the instructor may have been lacking, some of his first words were "you should have went to reserve" Assuming that was his instructor.

  6. That was drilled into me.
    1~ is canopy there?
    2~ is canopy square?
    3~ can you steer it?
    4~ can you flare it?
If answer is no to any its gone, altitude permitting.
Common sense tells me if I cant see the DZ, The plane can land with my ass sitting in it.

  7. The jump was a birthday gift from my sister, the video was her only request. She didn't think i would do it. It took a lot to stand up, but them I'm some what stubborn.

  8. Shah i don't know you well but your certainly making a mountain from a mole hill. If that condo is such an emotional drag on you, walk the hell off. Might not be able buy house anytime soon but they wont chase you down with dogs and shoot you either. As for medication, its not the end of the world and its rarely permanent.

  9. Taking any drug or drinking can slow your reflexes, I realize this is a tandem. But what if he (instructor) injures himself on exit and you have to pull and land. Just my opinion but if you cant do it without chemical courage, then try a different sport. Now the gurus here may have different views but I don't care to jump with anyone that isn't 100% aware.

  10. I understand that very well. My first jump was great, landing how ever was uhm not so graceful. I knew after first jump, scuffed knees and all I wasn't quitting. Still amazes me that I did it to just prove I had balls to actually do it, never would have thought I actually look forward to it even on days we are rained out.

  11. I hope I get my message across here. I got canceled jumping Saturday, which is no big deal. The question I have is, even though I may get several jumps in on a Saturday. With my job I'm only getting one Saturday off a month. Is this hindering the learning much? Do I need to jump more often not necessarily more jumps. I almost feel like I'm having to relearn to a point, or is it just I don't have enough jumps and I'm being paranoid. Since I didn't jump I couldn't ask my instructor so I thought I ask here.

  12. I might be spending few weeks there for my job, and since the DZ is only 5 miles away. I could finish my A license there, Anyone ever deal with them ?

  13. Ifearheights trust me you aren't any more scared of heights than I am. I waited till i was in my fifties to try this, damn I should started a lot sooner. I'm still new at it. I still get very nervous on the plane, but once door opens I want out!!!!! Just remember your instructor has hundreds if not thousands of jumps, he or she will take care of you, just enjoy.
