  1. Skydive San Diego is under new management now. They have antiquated rental gear, and no demo gear. The smallest rig that they have for rental is a old vectra with a 190 main. They're motto says that they are The state-of-the-art skydiving facility of southern California. I guess they think that because instead of electricity they have solar panels. Nothing to do with the skydiving facilities which are antiquated also. I waited 2 hours for a fun jump load. 5 loads of tandems and students ahead of me, and I didn't feel welcome from some of the staff. It is close to San Diego which is a plus, but I think that the extra hours worth of driving to Elsinore or Perris is worth it if you are looking to enjoy your jumps.
  2. I spent two weeks at Ramblers Toogoolawah. I completed about 45 jumps in 12 days of jumping. Everything is cheap, the people are great, Including the massive amount of foreigners including myself. Safety is paramount, and fun is second to that. The night life included regular BBQ's and as soon as everyone landed from the daily sunset load the bar opened and the wild came out. The DZ also hosts one of the wildest boogies in Australia every October. See you there!
