  1. You don't have to be sorry, this is a forum where people ask questions, and if other people seem annoyed for your question, they should just skip it and don't answer. Unfortunately courtesy it's a long forgotten trait around here.

  2. Exactly! As a coach, one should be able to film the trainee!
IMHO, people who get distracted because the camera, they will be distracted from something else anyway, no matter what activity they are doing, skydiving or not.
    Just my 2 cents.

  3. Hi Nataly,
try explain a whuffo why you like skydiving, he/she can't just get it.
I'd love to own a F-18 just to dogfight with friends or an F1 car to feel the rush.
I love weapons because they are just cool! I use them in the military, I like them for the fun of shooting at the range, I keep them for home self defense too.
Give an F-18 to an idiot and he will kill people with that, let a average guy drive a F1 car on the freeway, same shit!
If you think to the AR-15 or whatever weapon, not as the weapon but at as general object that brings satisfaction to your soul, you can see that all the above "toys" I mentioned above, are the same things with the same purpose, (removing the reason why they have been created for a specific task).
One thing to add is that also weapons have a certain political and sociological role in our society, unlike the Lamborghini or the private jet or whatever "toy" you can think, that's why the word "assault rifle" triggers so many emotions and thoughts.
My opinion is that people not accustomed and/or uneducated with weapons, will always see the dark side of that, same like non skydivers or non BASE jumpers will see some stupidity and unnecessary risk in our activities.

  4. So if you don't like, don't wear the fucking t-shirts, what's the problem?
I think that are rather stupid, I'd never have one, but they don't offend me, I saw in Iraq contractors and military wearing PORK EATER CRUSADER t-shirts, don't you think those are offensive for muslims too? But who fucking cares, everybody has the right to wear or show whatever they want, that's the point.
Those Qatari were guests and they behaved like they were the owners of the DZ, that's wrong!!! being veteran or not, wounded or not, purple heart or decorated or not is not the point, the point is freedom to be free in your own country.
Tell me one thing, you go to Dubai skydive and (I never been there so this is just an hypothesis) they stop the loads 4 times a day for prayer time, would you go to the DZ management to tell them that is BS and you want them to stop?Would you??

  5. No, he doesn't have to let it over because I can walk with that tattoo in any mall or public place in USA and no common sense person would feel offended, unless I had the bad luck to be in that place with a bunch of radical religious zealots.
It seems like that the real message here is that guests of this country has no right to 'demand' this or that, the Qatari general DEMANDED not ASKED, and the business owner bowed the head and answered SIR YES SIR!
The point is not the infidel tattoo, is the situation, like if you, as woman, you are driving a car and suddenly some of these guys asked the local police that they are offended because a woman is not supposed to drive a car, according to their culture, how would you feel?

  6. Again you are leading the topic to another direction, it doesn't matter if the symbol means or doesn't mean (belongs to a specific group or against), it matters the reaction that it provokes.
To put it in a simpler way to understand, how about a guy who walk into a church with a visible 666 tattoo? Same reaction. One group is offended from a person clearly stating that doesn't belong to that group.
Of course if you want take it to the "why a satanist want to walk into a church" , that's not in scope with this discussion.

  7. This exactly what I think.
Military is no different from any other social group, there are brilliant people, enlisted and officers and assholes, enlisted and officers.
I'm still serving in the military and I met amazing people and real jerks.
I don't think that all military are heroes, it's all BS to me, some they like what they do, some they didn't have alternatives when they choose this profession.
Btw, I'm in the reserve and I'd never go active duty for the same above reason.:D

  8. I agree that the tattoo is stupid and I'd never get anything like that, the point here is that this guy, can't express his thoughts here in America, without getting in that cheesy rethoric of god bless our troops and BS like that.
But I guess that is becoming the norm, since I am agnostic and all the christians I know look at me like I am a crazy lost soul.

  9. I just read on a Facebook page the story of a skydiver and disabled Iraq war veteran about that he was asked to cover his tattoo that in arabic reads as infidel from the DZ management because at the same time there was a Qatar group of skydivers training there whom they got offended.
The DZ is Florida Skydive Lake Wales.

As a Iraq war veteran AND American AND skydiver I feel really offended about the behavior of this DZ.
If you share my feelings, please let the DZ knows that you do not accept this kind of behavior.
    What are your thoughts?

  10. You got it buddy, that's the big problem with people in this forum, one asks an opinion and he/she gets a fucking sermon from people who don't even know you personally.
If someone ask a question, GIVE HIM/HER A FUCKING ANSWER!! If you don't know the answer STFU and move to the next thread.
Same here bro, people fucking judge without even know who you are.
They just see only one thing: Jump #.
Like my friend, NAVY SEAL, he has some 100 jumps and when someone had some wisdom pearls for him because he was wearing a GoPro at a DZ I got so mad, idiots!
    Hoo fucking yah.
