We already have a severe problem with up jumpers showing a lack of skill and decision-making with regard to canopy control, and we want to make it easier for potential AFFI's to SKIP actual skydives!!??

How about: do the six hours and STFU about your awesome backflying skills because you can barely fly a canopy to save your own life, let alone teach someone else how to do it. Skydiving is not just about how well you can bore a hole in space in freefall, there are aircraft procedures, emergency aircraft procedures, spotting, exits, opening, canopy control, landing, field stowing gear, packing, debriefing, gearing up, gear check, buddy gear check..... none of that is covered with "tunnel time."

I wonder if all my freefall time will allow me to automatically become a tunnel coach?

On Saturday, I had a 17 year old girl rodeoing me. It was her first rodeo, but she did extremely well. The whole jump went exacly as we briefed.
And it was the sunset load, ...awesome!

Did anyone have a younger rider on your back ?

I'm sure Purple Mike has had something just out of the 8th grade on his mind for a rodeo. May be you can claim "first in the world" for this? :S

I wouldn't suggest trying to pop the pin yourself.

The flopping bridle could wrap your hand.
If you did open the container, no guarantee the bag would open with an uncocked PC.
Now you've burned altitude and might have nothing to show for it except less distance above the ground.

Leave rigging for the ground and follow your EPs.

I have seen recent video if someone silly enough to reach back and pull the pin with a collapsed pilot chute in tow. Reaching back, he rolled onto his back which rolled him over and there wasn't enough drag to extract the canopy from the Dbag which left quite a mess of lines for the reserve to go through as it danced around on his back. The reserve cleared though.
    Here is video @ 2:10mins

There is no excuse for jumping with an uncocked pilot chute. :S

Anybody have experience getting their PF suit altered in the US? Wanted to find a rigger to extend my height 1 inch. I believe it's just a bootie fabric addition. A few riggers have said no, so I need somebody.

A little of what you missed. Super short time avail this week, so nothing special in the video until the very end.

Haha.... After I called Hammo to come and pick me up from landing off, he still asked me to drink some wine at his new house. So, I figured I'd throw in an apology for good measure. But still..... no promises ;)
    Fun weekend :)

And the next day, he flew. No footage available yet afaik. But apparently it is beautiful.

After I personally spoke with Yves and Bruno this weekend, while we flying wingsuits over the Skywalk and into the canyon, I have to admit the FAA gave him a TOTAL bullshit runaround for this event. He was 100% right to call off his first flight, but seeing the footage when he did actually fly was fantastic. The wind was not cooperating much either.......

JP, unless you hear things coming straight from my mouth, I sincerly think you should shut the fuck up. Who sells the PAC and supports, it does nothing to influence why I think the Kodiak is a superior aircraft to the PAC.

If you have any other words of bullshit to spread, please contact me directly so we can discuss the subject. ;)

You post a smart ass remark and then get your panties in a knot when someone responds in kind. A little touchy it would seem.

  11. Recently while testing the V4 with a Team Ill Vision team mate of the same height/weight. He was in a V3 and I had on the V4. Flying the V3 at about 80%, I let him punch it out and get out in front me, while trying to catch him, I found the forward speed in the V4 gained slightly on the V3. Then, while matching his forward speed, the V4 was able to have the ability to gain tremendous altitude on the V3 while matching the forward speed. We then switched suits and found exactly the same results.
Note this is only from a few jumps on the suit and with more flights on it, the results will be only better.
