What a place. On any given Sat night there is at least twenty to thirty people that stay in rooms on the DZ. Most rooms even have AC. They put on a massive feast (pot luck style) with on site chef that prepares the main course on Sat afternoon. The night I was there he cooked smoked ribs, sausage and potatoes, and grilled garlic bread. They have a giant outdoor grill pit and an oversized fire pit with plenty of wood to keep the fire going to the wee hours in the morning. The only thing missing is a turbine aircraft but some of the jumpers there don't want it, cause it would draw to many people and with all the people comes all the DRAMA. The dropzone is on thier own airport (non muni) and the DZO delagates most of the day to day runnings of the DZ to different jumpers. This place is not a club but a privately owned DZ ran by jumpers. Just when I thought I have seen it all "Red Eye" deceides that it was time to play Flippy Cup. After a few rounds of this drinking game I was pressured to give my keys up and was given a room normally reserved for another jumper that was not there that weekend. Where else would you get this kind of treatment these days??
