  1. ok so my chest strap almost hits me in my chin and or neck on deployment still a got some room but a little too close for comfort. Anyone else have this issue and if so what did you do about it?
  2. whats the next best place to buy used gear besides the classified section? most places are few limited (one or two canopies) (couple containers) if they even carry anything used....am i missing another good resource to buy used skydiving stuff?
  3. ok seems pretty unanimous against fxc 12000.....damn
  4. what makes the fxc 12000 bad? it has been tested by the company recently.....I just like how it is mechanical and doesn't depend on batteries and electronics, especially if things get wet i trust mechanical more. Also i like how you can hear it doing it's thing on every jump so you know it is atleast doing something back there.....
  5. my wings container has a little window in the back sized for a cypres/vigil.....any way i can get a fxc 12000 add in there? the end is much bigger than the end of the vigil/cypress so not sure how i fit it....any one else fit it? if so how?
  6. here is the other posts content....can a mod plesase modify the first post/subject to reflect the thread combine.....thanks Subject:Donate your video to online free training/instruction project ------------------------------------------------------------ I feel that the community is lacking a online video instruction and training type material. Everything i see is purchuseable material and I really feel like the comunity would benifit from a free instructional video site that would help beginners gain some understanding and help them through aff as well as more experienced people with other aspects of the sport, especially when dealing with canopy control. I am a beginner compared to most on this site but feel like i can help fill a void if I had video i can edit and add instructional comentary too slow down and show step by step......I would like a few people to donate their skydiving video libary to the free (open source...for lack a better word) project (probably will have you upload video via ftp server i will setup for the project).....end state will be 40-50 videos explaining various aspects of the sport hosted on a free site for everyone to use free of charge (might stick with youtube as my video server embedding youtube objects into a seperate site.....please let me know if you would like to donate your video or help develop content, again this is a free project to make the community better and help make the sport more accessable for beginers thanks K.G.P.
  7. ok thanks for the help that would work......can a mod please edit this post to model the other post's title and first post content here is the other post....the first post on the other thread just makes more sense.... http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3984834;page=unread#unread ps to skyrider.....I am a computer programmer, I have worked on many open source projects and released many free for all type programes/games. That might be why I want to do this.
  8. can a mod please delete this post and reenable this ( http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3984834;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread ) post i was asked to combine the threads but the other one makes more sense/is in the proper forum/plus i can't edit anymore for some reason Thanks
  9. actually very good advice pilotdave I will make sure to peer review any material before it is posted. thanks
  10. yes i understand that you feel your work is worth something.....I am looking for people that just video everything and are not going to do anything with it and don't mind other people seeing their video. This is not a money making indevor this is a selfless attempt to make the community better and make the training material freely avalible better. I like many others are not motivated by monetary benifit I care more about helping people and possibly saving someones life becuase they saw one of the videos we create......i think it is a worth while project....

  12. got my licence but just seems to me there is a lack of free online training material.....i mean you can learn anything online but there are almost no training type videos for skydiving.....i have found "purchasable material but most of that is like from the 80's.....Am I not looking hard enough or are there like no videos on youtube....you see normal jumps but nothing that would be educational. Can anybody direct me to a site or something that would help me learn things like canopy control, i mean might as well do something while it is winter and the dropzones near me are closed.....
  13. hum didn't think the plane you were jumping out of was that big of a deal......i mean it's not like you don't have a parachute......lol
  14. that is probably the cheapest possible.....lots of options that is for sure. Now that i have an idea about the cheapest i can price out and make an informed decision.
  15. So finding a home dz is more important than just wacking out the cert at the cheapest place.......It maybe just my "online shopper" coming through always looking for a cheapest place to buy stuff. Has worked out for me in the past, maybe not this time though.....
