Does too long mean unsafe or uncomfortable?

If I have the main lift web shortened to 2 inches is that the same as having a c19?

Looking for my first complete rig. I found a javelin c-21 here on drop zone, I'm 71.5'' 195 # Is this too large? I was told a master rigger could shorten the main lift web if it is too large. Any suggestions?

Thank you everyone for your advice, at this stage of the game it seems as though I could use all the advice I could get. I did see a ff suit from freakin suits that they could add a low profile grippers to (sort of a hybrid I guess) do you think that would work , or is that sort of suit not good for either.

At my current skill level I only free fly by accident, but could see myself free flying as I progress. Do the different suits really make that much of a difference in flying or is it just a matter of having grips or not?
