  1. I didn't realize that Truman Sparks had moved the school to Midland. My advice to you is, "Turn your radio WAY UP Mr. Hicks". And put me on the board for $5 too just because I don't ride anything as cool as a 'Busa or fly a Velo yet but I do listen to canopy pilots with a shit-ton of experience. Edited - I have a perfectly good Sabre 170 that I bought for my 1st main. I was holding it for someone at our DZ but I'd make you a deal if you want it and don't jump that HW. You would load it at about .9 and you can lean everything you need to advance on a Sabre w/o the unforgiving risks of an eliptical. PM me if interested. (Now I feel better about tossing in my $5.) pm sent
  2. Thank you for the link and the advice I will read that in it entirety tonght when I can dedicate myself to it more.
  3. So what does my elliptical 190 equate out to on a normal main?
  4. Thanks glitch. I know you all hear this often but I have a track record for moving forward too fast in everything I do, but I have been blessed with the ability to know very well what I and my body is capable of in these situations. Everyone I spoke to told me I'd be dead in a week after I bought a Suzuki hayabusa when I was 18. No license, never rode a motorcycle. I took the weekend safety course and began riding. No tickets and no wrecks. I wouldn't let myself do anything more radical then what I absolutly knew I can handle. I know this is apples and oranges but the self control and cool under pressure way I am is still a big part of how this weekend will go. Thanks again
  5. Yes it is an elliptical. I have 7 jumps on the 230
  6. I weigh 135 and I know it's a big change. I got it way cheap. 700 for it and a cypress II. The owner and all the staff said they feel comfortable with my progress and said they feel confident. They said well be very careful and put a radio back on me for the first few just in case it's needed. Anything you guys recommend for this jump?
  7. So this weekend I have the ok to finally use the rig I got. I'm so stoked I can't wait to see the difference! The difference when they moved me from the student 290 to the student 230 was a huge awesome difference in reaction and just overall feel of it. My 190 heatwave should be simply amazing! Sorry if I'm boring anyone I'm just overly excited! Joe
  8. Hello all just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Joe and I made my first static line jump this past weekend. I've been dieing to skydive since I was around 10 years old jumping off my roof onto a trampoline with umbrellas, trash bags, sheets, pillow slips all trying to glide, no luck there! Anyway I loved the first jump, had a good climb out, good arch, good canopy ride, then forgot all on landing. I'm headed back out this weekend for 2-3 jumps. I'm addicted already!! Im getting a lot of great info from this site and all of you just browsing around so thank you all and I hope to make this a lifelong hobby! Joe Heres a link to my little sis's great landing and my friend and I not having the same luck. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tpoDFaJJLY --Mine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMbtLVamfkQ --my friend Saxon http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0N27NJr9O0c --my sis Amy
