  1. Apologies Bill, the green name and "Moderator" underneath confused me as you were the next to post. And Phree: Initiating a conspiracy theory would have been making accusations such as all the container manufacturers getting together to make a push to get someone out of the industry. Or maybe that Argus' competition may have been privy to this information beforehand, etc... I'd hardly call pointing out a simple piece of very relevant and factual information initiating a conspiracy theory. But maybe you're right, and the politics forum would be a better place to discuss this issue. It's becoming more apparent that that's what this whole thing is about anyway... Sean LR
  2. I call 100% BS. The issue with Vigil was a hard plastic insert with sharp edges on the cutter that was completely a design flaw. Now it has been proven that the issue with Argus was caused by lead shot from a packing weight. What's the "fix" for this? Disallow anyone with a loop cutting AAD to use packing weights with shot pellets in them? I'm not sure how you can compare these two issues. One was caused by a design flaw of the cutter, and one was caused by external influences that are not related to the make/model of the AAD. Sean LR PS: Feel free to delete this post like you did with the last one... Sean LR

  4. I'm trying to set up a new CP course at our DZ, and I'm wondering where everyone gets their pool noodles from. I used to just find them at the dollar store, etc... but it seems you're generally at the mercy of whatever colours they have in stock. I'm looking for somewhere I can get a good variety of colours so I can make proper speed and zone acc courses. Any ideas? Thanks guys and gals! Sean LR
  5. Hey all, I recently had a customer drop off a rig for a repack that has a Chute Shop "Predator" reserve in it. I've been looking for some time now, and I am still unable to find a manual for it. Does anyone have one, or know where I might find it? I've tried parachutemanuals.com, as well as the website of the company that Chute Shop became (Parachute Systems). Thanks in advance guys and gals. Sean LR
  6. Hey everyone, I'm attending a canopy piloting comp at skydive Palatka in early April of this year and seem to be in a bit of a pickle. I'm flying from Canada, and can't seem to find any bus lines that run from any of the airports around (Daytona Beach, Jacksonville, Orlando) to Palatka, and I'm not able to get a one way car rental to Palatka. A week long car rental isn't all that feasible seeing as I'm not 25 and car rental is stupidly expensive. This leads me to come and attempt to secure a ride from a fellow skydiver. I'm hoping to fly in to Orlando, as it it a few hundred dollars cheaper than Daytona or Jacksonville on or around April 4th. If anyone is able to help me out by giving me a ride, it would be very much appreciated, and I would obviously pay you for your trouble. If you can help out, please email me at seanedmontonskydivecom, or call me at 780-218-5658. Thanks guys and girls, I really appreciate it!!! Sean LR
  7. Hey guys and gals. I have booked a flight arriving at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (for the CP nationals) arriving at 5:00PM on October 19th, and I'm looking for a ride to the DZ. I'm more than willing to pay for gas and your time. If you can help me out, or know someone that can, please email me at seanedmontonskydivecom. Thanks in advance everyone!! Sean LR

  9. So here's the situation: Our DZ is hosting the Provincial competition (for all diciplines) this year, and we have decided that we will include canopy piloting (distance) this year. We've never hosted a CP event before, and we are wondering what the best way to build gates is. Keep in mind that they have to be 10ft gates (we're only running intermediate gates seeing as we don't yet have a pond) and we don't have a fancy laser gate syetem, just video and/or the judges watchful eye. We're worried about striking a balance between having gates that are too flimsy (thus not maintaining a full 10ft) and gates that are too sturdy, and would not give out on the off chance that someone hits them... Could someone with competition experience chime in with what is being commonly used? Thanks in advance. Sean LR
