Hey y'all! I just wanted to make everyone aware of a fundraiser coming up next fall at Skydive Carolina called Jump for Darfur! I'm sure you have heard of the genocide in Darfur which has claimed the lives of over 400,000 Darfuris and displaced over 2.7 million people since 2003. I started a non-profit in Sudan which benefits rape victims in Darfur by providing the women a safe place for rehabilitation. Currently we are trying to raise funds to start building the women's shelter in Sudan. In order to raise funds we are asking that jumpers obtain sponsors for their jumps. From the funds raised Reaching Out in Sudan, Africa (the non-profit) will purchase your jump ticket and the extra money raised will go to benefit victims in Darfur. Hi. I'm not new to skydiving, but I am new to dropzone.com. My name is Laura (obviously) and I'm a student at USC and a member and the former vp of the Flying Gamecocks (the only cocks that fly for those of you that weren't aware). :) My home dz is Skydive Carolina in Chester, SC...and may I say they rock! I am so lucky to have found such an awesome skydiving community close by. I am in the process of completing AFF (whenever I'm not off jet setting) and hopefully I'll finish it by the end of July.
