  1. You think regular college is tough? Try going to school for architecture. Im lucky if i sleep 15 minutes in 3 days. literally. Its horrible. But who sleeps really its so out of style ;)

    They come in metric too.
BTW UBC is one of the most beautiful campuses in the world. You'll love it there if you can afford those expensive Canadian dollars.;)

Ya I know besides the architecture program that is the main reason i want to go there. Ive never even lived outside of NJ so I'm a little bit nervous about it :|

  3. I understand that in Canada the kilometer is used on road systems, etc, but what other units of measure are used in Canada, specifically BC? Do you use the meter? Yard? Foot? What about for architecture and building plans? I would assume the foot, since in England the KM is also used but so is the foot. Wow, confusing. :o

  4. What do you think about Maine? Is it possible to hike for 1-2 weeks without doing the entire 281 miles though the state? I know its supposed to be some of the hardest hiking though the entire thing but I think I can handle it.

  5. Im trying to plan a hiking trip for next summer on the AT but Im not really sure where to start. Anybody have any experience here? Tips, suggestions are very welcome! :)

  6. Anybody who states that Bear spends his nights in a hotel is a moron. Period. Ya, I'm sure in the middle of the freaking amazon rainforest he hops in a jeep, drives a hundred miles to a hotel, spends the night, then drives back the next day and starts back over where he left off. Same thing for the Australian outback, Moab desert, hawaiian lava fields, and any other place hes been in. Even if they were just filming it hollywood style, the most they would do is set up a tent for him after the cameras shut off and give him some food or somthing. Hotels. What a joke. Get real people.

  7. Survivor man is a terrible show. Besides the fact that he is boring as hell he rarely gives any useful information. He also doesn't show you anything about getting out of the situation, which on the other hand is the entire point of man vs wild. The the whole point is to keep moving and get out, not just sit in a cave for a week. Bear Grylls all the way. :P

I don't know how widespread the company is.....

But in California a few of my friends (who are in southern, I am in northern) have a deal going with Martinelli's apple juice/cider. It's a piece of cake. THey send you packets with stickers for promotions and such. All you have to do is go to a grocery store and stick the labels and such on the product on the shelves, maybe hang a small sign or two.

Then, get the manager to sign your checksheet with the store number, and bam. we make about $10 a store.

It's a nice deal to have going because you can do it whenever you go shopping, or when you get bored. if you plot your course out right, you can make around 40 or 50 bucks an hour.

How did they get set up with that gig?

  9. Well I had another thread titled, "Home Depot" explaining how I was fired and now have no money to skydive. Boohoo right. Anyway. I was just wondering if anybody out there had any cool job ideas. Im sure some of you had some fun jobs at one point and Im just looking to maybe hear some stories or ideas! Thanks!
