  1. As was posted I'd recommend starting with a tandem as well. As a note I've seen several go right the AFF level 1 jump without issue. All depends on you, your budget, and what you feel is in your best interests. Might ask for different opinions at the DZ. Good luck.

  2. Interesting for me as at the end of every year I set goals regarding my music. Getting into skydiving was never 2006 goal and looks like I'll have AFF and a several coaching jumps completed before new years.

As far as 2007 goals go, this is only the beginning for me but at the very least:

-get a second job at the dz
    -get my own gear
    -B license
-neet new people, make more friends in the sport
-stay safe, current, all that good stuff

  3. From a personal perspective I do not ever see this sport getting old for me. There's always something new to learn, disciplines to master, and if by chance skydiving just doesn't do it for me, then there's BASE jumping. With some people having 10,000 some odd jumps...something tells me they would have gotten that far if things ever became boring or routine. Then again...skydiving isnt for everyone and some find its not for them and try something diffeent.

I completed AFF a few months back, have my A and my Cat II and am finding incredible joy in every aspect of the sport - free flying in particular - there's only one problem...I just can't focus on anything else!

Apart from spending everything i have on gear and jumps, i catch myself driving around on weekdays with my head out of the window looking at the sky muttering "what a great day for jumping", i spend about 2 hrs a day online reading up on the sport and i'd rather get to bed early on a sat nite and be at the DZ for the first load on a sunday.

Oh and i'm seriously entertaining thoughts of tossing the job and hitting the states to log jumps.

I was wondering if anyone else has/had this problem when they started jumping?

I have this problem at only 14 jumps...glad to know it probably wont go away at 630ish :D

Nah whenever Im at work and go outside, or whenever Im outside in general I always find myself looking up and evaluating the sky. I used to catagorize the weather so many different ways now its only jumpable or non-jumpable.

why you should skydive at least once in your life. it'd be GREAT if you all could tell me some of your reasons.

Objectively, no one should have to do anything there don't wish to.

My reasons for skydiving are subjective and may differ from others. Initially I did a tandem to conquer my fears and become a stronger person (mentally) from it, I continued into AFF not only for said-reason, but I discovered that I actually enjoyed it, loved the view and really saw myself having a future in the sport.

This is a minor suggestion, but since you have taken an interest in the subject at hand, I would reccomend doing a tandem jump so that you would have your own perspective to go with the report rather than second-hand accounts from others. In the end its up to you. I guess the bottom line for me is that I simply skydive because I choose to :)

    Good luck.

  8. I work full-time in a douments warehouse pulling box orders, shit like that. Job perks include having weekends off and not needing a gym to keep in shape. Everything else about it blows. Pays the bills though.
