  1. I jump year round in CO and have gotten out at 11K with temperatures at altitude around -5 or -10F. Had to pull my goggles up to see my altimeter. When I got under canopy I had a pretty solid layer of ice on my jumpsuit and helmet. It had mostly melted by the time i got inside and left my jumpsuit pretty wet.
  2. Thanks for all the info so far. Does anyone know of any PD dealers that offer a military discount?
  3. I know there are quite a few military folks on here and maybe ya'll can offer some advice... I'm looking to buy a new rig and was wondering of those companies/dealers that offer military discounts, who have ya'll worked with. I know there are some companies that have offered great discounts (i.e. Wings 50% off), but am not sure of all the companies that do this. Any help that anyone could offer would be great.
  4. Let us know next time you're down here and we can get you down to the airfield to check out our jump ops.
  5. I'm at the Academy and we've had people going up almost every weekend since it has been open. They've had nothing but good things to say about it. Hopefully I will be able to get up there after SB.
  6. Just thought I say hello and introduce myself. Name's Dan. I'm a Tennessean but right now I'm in school in Colorado Springs. I'm fairly new to skydiving, only about 50 jumps. I'll be jumping out here a lot this summer and in Nashville for a few weeks during the summer also, so looking for some folks to jump with. Right now I'm just enjoying taking in all the info I can about the sport and getting to know the sport as best I can.
  7. USAF For most that jump for the military, as was mentioned, it is more of a job than anything else. There are very few exceptions to this rule (Army GKs, USAFA Wings of Blue, Navy Leap Frogs).
