  1. Yep Euro version. Just didn't dawn on me to drop the "E" on a predominantly NTSC discussion board! Well guess it's carry on waiting for a good PC1000 to come along.. Thanks
  2. I searched before postng my topic on "HC7E" which only brought up one topic on a bite switch / cameye. Just searched for "HC7" though after reading your reply and yeah now I see the full picture!! Thanks
  3. Hello I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this camera yet in a skydiving capacity? I'm looking to replace my camera soon with either a second hand PC1000 (if I can find one!) or save up another couple of months and get the HDR-HC7E. The only worry I have is that I know two people who have had experience with HD cameras (don't know which models) that suggested the image wasn't stable at times, like the anti-shake system was messing up or something. Is this typical of HD cameras in general?? Any info you guys mayhave would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  4. Hello, I've tried looking around for a solution to this problem but not having any luck. I figured someone on here must have come across this before! Ok I have a Sony PC109E PAL camera which works fine with my computer and Adobe Premiere Pro when downloading my standard PAL footage. I also have videos of my jumps from other peoples point of view but in NTSC format. Now my camera can actually play both PAL and NTSC formats, i.e. it will play on the LCD screen on the viewfinder and will play when connected to a television. My problem is however I cannot seem to download it to my computer via Adobe Premiere, Sony Picture Package, Nero or any other video capture software I have tried. I was just wondering if anyone knows a way of getting this NTSC footage onto my PC so I can cut together a video. As a less important secondary question does anyone have a preferred way of converting PALto NTSC or vice versa for making a video in Premiere? After research I'll be using the interepret / rendering method in After Effects, just wondering if anyone has any better ideas. Thanks for your time.
  5. Thanks for the responses. I don't think its the same problem as Peej mentions though as I don't get any error message. Also there isn't a focussing ring on my camera (it's done through the touch screen menu) so I don't think its related to anything getting nudged in freefall or anything. It does however have a zoom switch on the side of the camera that could have been nudged but it doesn't look from the footage that it is zooming, just auto focussing. I've had an idea though to try out on my next jump though, instead of pressing 'OK' after setting the camera on manual focus, I'll just leave it on that menu screen, see if that holds it manual mode?? Thanks for the responses.
  6. Hi! I've noticed a bit of a problem when filming my jumps, my camera is a Sony PC109E. The problem is that when I look back at the video once on the ground / download it to the PC you can definitely tell that the camera has tried "auto focusing" despite me setting, checking and checking again that before leaving the plane it is set in manual focus mode. Changing the mode is done by accessing the menu system on the touch screen so the problem cant be caused by accidently clipping a switch or adjustment dial. I was just wondering if anyone else has encountered this kind of problem before or knows a way around it?? Thanks
