Same thing happened to me. He wouldn't use PayPal and wanted to send a check. I replied that I knew he was scamming me and that what I expected next was for him to send a check for more than the amount an I would forward the extra money to someone else from my account. Well he got pissed, and his English suddenly got a whole lot better! He was writing using proper gramer. I just sent the emails to abuse@ DZ.com

I don't have a Browning High Power pistol. I have a Springfield 1911 A-1 in stainless steel and I'm sure it has an ambi safety. JMB did design the original 1911 Colt, again I'm sure, but different manufactures added to his design later on. Its almost a 100 yr old design. Just wanted to clear that up for you.

Hay Tuna I think a Glock 20 with Wolf or KKb 6 inch barrel and 22 lbs springs would put you in the realm you wish to be in for home defense or urban warfare.
The G29 is a fine gun but something is lost in 10mm with a short barrel. Double check your balistics and you may find a 40 cal. is just about equal to a 180 gr 10mm fired from a G29. Have you checked 10mmtalk.com

I purshased a 357 SIG barrel, shot some 125 ball and found the recall to be very nice.

My second choice is:
S&W AR-15. 5.56 cal. Loaded with Hornady FPD .223 55 gr. JHP in a 20 round mag.
Quadrail with laser and light.

Troy flip battle sights.
Again for legal reasons

My CCW is a very ugly Springer SS .45 cal. loaded with 230 gr. JHP in a Wilson 47d mag's.
This is my choice because If a cop conficates it I,m really not out of my BEST most FAVORITE hand gun and I carry a 1911 in condition 3 so...... thumb safty off during the draw. I have relatives with Glocks who are scared to carry a chambered round, yet they still carry in condition 1. So I guess they feel they have time to rack a slide. I guess they figure they will have the avability of using both hands. I don't know but thats my reason for carring a 1911 for the ambi thumb safty. John M Browning was a brilliant man!

Thank you LOU for that cite. Just looking at the first gel tells it all. The wound channel is as wide as 00 buck but only penatrated slightly over 6 inches. If this was a missed shot in a home it would have stopped after the first wall. That is a pretty big hole, can you picture what that would look like on a person. They would stop persuing you and have to seek medical attention or bleed out within minuets.

Really, Then you must think its bullshit that a man can kick, or punch through 1/2 inch sheetrock. Well I have kicked out sheetrock doing demolition work on severial houses. Sheetrock is not really strong.

Now if you think that is bullshit, then you will love this. Try putting 3@ 12 inch by 12 inch pieces of 1/2 inch sheetrock over the muzzel of a 20 guage shotgun loaded with 00 Buck. Then place your left hand ontop of the sheetrock, with you right hand pull the trigger. Get back to me with the result..... if you still have fingures to type with .

There is approximatly 3 1/2 inches of airspace between layers of sheetrock on a 2x4 stud wall.
I would not take the chance of colateral damanage to loved ones, YMMV.

Maybe, But I would not fire blindly in my home at him. It is utterly imposible to list all the "what ifs". With all of my fly. members accounted far, and behind me I would choose to take cover and dial 911 before charging into battle agains an unknown foe. The reason is because I can not account for all the "what ifs". Also I use a hand gun for self defense, I know and respect that a shot gun is also used by many for protection, but in your "what if" a shotgun would not be my first choice.

Are there other people that live in you home? Such as kids or a wife, possabily an elderly mother or father? If you think that #6 1/2 bird shot at 20 ft. will not kill then you are sadly mistaken.

In close quarters combat situations 6 1/2 will open a wound chanel in a person thourax equal to 00 buck. It will rip, tear and shread every thing. The human body is 2/3 water. Skin, muscel, guts at an avarage of 10-14 inches thick. Slugs and 00 buck will penatrate through the human body and continue through 2 or 3 sheet rock interior walls, also ripping and tearing your childern or perhaps the respondinf police officers. Wise up! CQC by a homeowner is alot different from urban warfare by trained soldiers.

Whatever you choose. Ammo choice is the important factor. 6 1/2 bird shot will open a wound channel equal to 00 buck at 7 yrds. 6 1/2 low brass will not penatrate more than one sheetrock interior wall, 00 buck will and you take the chance of colaterial damanage..

Tom, just a heads up on DPMS.. many of there AR-10
do not have shell deflectors or forward assists. In a ar I would really like to have a forward assist. I have use my several times on my 5.56. I can imanage a larger round like a 308 needing one to close the breech.
Check out Rock River Arms (RRA). they have really nice gear for equal or better prices.
The only thing DPMS has ( IMO) is the chryo-accurizing, I believe you can send any barrel to DPMS for that customizing.
Remington has a new AR-25 chambered in 308 however I believe they are using DPMS uppers, then they camo paint the whoe gun, sell it for more money with a 5 round HUNTING mag. I don't have any experience with the remington, But the DPMS and RRA are great guns.
also good choice in 308 being a NATO round( 7.62) I believe you will always have optins in buying factory ammo.
I was in the market for one for sometime know, but I noticed alot of PAWN shops having BAR, Winchester, and others chamberes in 30-06. I guess Hunters are trading in their guns for the 7 Mag. or the 300 WM. These guns have scopes, and are priced around $350- 400. Better price for me for what I want and still a NATO round with plenty of manufacture ammo. Here in SE Texas a ferral hog or whitetail will be an avarge 100 yrd. shot. Still out in west TX a 30-06 will accomplish a 3-400 yrd. shot with slightly less droping power as opposed to the300 WM or 7 mag , but will get the job done.
Also it can still be used as a defensive gun, IMO because the 30-06 was the parrent case for the 308, 270, 243, 300 WM and the 7Mag and others.

I would fear that the students overtake the teacher and take his gun! You said "a Student" What about 3 or 4 in a gang bust a teacher ass and take his piece, then threaten another class untill they get that teachers piece, etc......

As far as I am aware, prison guards do not wear guns in the jail area for that very reason.

I don't agree. I think that semi-auto handguns of the type like the Glocks, SAs, Kimbers, S&Ws, are common enough that they are eminently defensible for self defense use. One avenue of defending them is the fact that they are in widespread use by police departments. I wouldn't recommend going around with a 33 round mag in your Glock 22, but the standard 15+1 should not cause you legal trouble in this day and age. <<<<

I would agree with yuor ststment here if it were a home invasion, but in the parking lot of a Wal-Mart pulling out a 1000 dollar kimber will only wind up in the cops confiscating a 1000 dollar gun. You may eventualy get it back, maybe the same day but you have to weigh the cost of the weapon. A 250 - 300 dollar 38+p snub nose is eiser to hide and when you get home the Kimber is still there for home defense.

there has been several people posting about caliber and 13+ 1 or 15+1 remember that their atterny is going to paint the picture that you were a loose cannon running around with thousands of rounds and a menance to socity. SO...isuggess a small revolver. Simple to use and a close quarters weapon, easy to carry. When I say small I mean Snub nose, they come in 357, 38 special +p and the newest one is 327 federal mag.

I would advise you to go for 2 in the chest 1 in the head. Not 3 in the center of mass.

Remember to scream STOP as you draw, that will also help with any witness.
Shooting some one 3 times in the chest with a 357 sig or a 9 mm will not always kil them, they will be the toughfest witness against you in the court room, so two in the chest and one in the HEAD seems to work very effectly.

I have heard this statment alot from people who miss quote what he said. I for one do not want to think we would stay engaged in a conflict for 100 years either. But the question he was answering, and he gave examples like we still have troops in Vietnam, and Korea. But they are not being harmed or killed. We still have forces in Germany from WW 2. I have personaly know friends in the Marines who were stationed in Germany, or Korea before the Iraq war started. I also believe Gitmo is ours from a war well over a hundred years ago. The reality is that we WILL have troop presence in the Middle East for a very LONG time. It just depends if there are being harmed or killed!

Do you think it is our foreign policy that is driving up the price for a barrel?
