  1. So what is the general consensus. Javelin does not recommend putting any smaller then a 170 main into a j4k. But people have done it. Anyone see any safety issues with jumping a 150 in a j4k? it will be the last time i bother you folks on the subject hopefully!! There is a difference between living and being alive.
  2. what about the j4k? have any experience with that container about taking a 150 main or smaller safely? even though sunpath does not recommend it There is a difference between living and being alive.
  3. I talked to Javelin and they do not have a container they produce that can still take a pd176r but take a 150 or below There is a difference between living and being alive.
  4. thanks guys!!! so awesome to have the input!! cant really fork out the dough for a new rig though... so just been looking around at used. kinda thinking about a j4k that is for sale it has a pd176r in it and a 170 main. But im wondering if anyone has had a 150 in a j4k container? the owner's rigger mentioned "it could take a 150 easy" Though that does go against what sunpath recommend. I'm kinda torn :( There is a difference between living and being alive.
  5. Thanks for the help folks! So I guess another question is are there any options out there for other rigs that have the option currently to have a 176 reserve but get down as low as a 150 main? Thanks! There is a difference between living and being alive.
  6. I guess thats my question. The recomendations by sunpath about max and min main and res. sizes in containers. I guess I wonder how hard and fast they are. Have people squeezed a 176 into a j3k when it says on the website that a 160 reserve would be the biggest it would take. http://www.sunpath.com/sizchart.htm There is a difference between living and being alive.
  7. Hello, Sorry to bother you all. This is my first post in the dz.com forum. Been using this site since 1997 though. Was told I might be able to pose a question to you all. In the hopes someone has any input/experience with the items in question. I am looking for a Rig and have some options for exactly what im looking for. Except for one fact. I want to stay around the 170, pdr176 reserve but have the option to go down to a 150 main maybe even slightly smaller. I have options for getting a J4K but sunpath does not condone any smaller then a 170 main in it. There is also an option for a J3K but that would mean going to a 160 reserve. I am 200lbs and would really prefer a 170ish min reserve. The time I have been in the sport I have never been big into swooping and the like. I get all my kicks in the air. The person that owns the j4k container for sale, his rigger mentioned to him you could easily put a 150 in it. This will be my last rig and will have all bells and whistles freefly options, wingsuit laterial cut ins for flat main pouch deployment and the like. I would be happy with a rig that would give me the option to hold a pd176r and yet still safely hold a 150 main. Sorry again to bother the masses :( There is a difference between living and being alive.
