Most jumps in a day: 21 BASE jumps from the KL Tower

I hope that tower had an elevator.

  2. Not only does skydiving training devote much time to teach correct body position to try to develop muscle memory, you have to remember that a student also learns by using visual cues. I don't think it is wise to have them look at the world upside down.

  3. Orlando! Now we're getting somewhere! Is this Orlando, Nebraska?

You know, the way the Gulf of Mexico kinda gets in the way of automobile travel, going from the Florida panhandle to Orlando might be longer than going to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, home of Dolly World and all that touristy stuff. I assume the wind tunnel is still there?

To the original poster, I'm afraid you're out of luck finding a conveniently close wind tunnel to Ft. Walton Beach. I've vacationed there. It's one of my favorite places.

It's funny that way. On the DZ I'm nothing special (skill wise, though everyone is nice to me). In everyday world I'm Person With the Exciting (or Crazy) Hobby. Different worlds. B|
Ah well, at least I'm having fun.B|

You will soon notice that on the DZ what you do in the other world has absolutely no importance. I have jumped with trauma surgeons, Marine Lt. Colonels, several PhDs, an astronaut (!), and lots of waitresses & bartenders. All that gets pushed aside when you put your rig on. Everybody's equal.

In the everyday world skydiving is so outside the realm of normalcy that I don't doubt that your friends and co-workers gossip about you around the water fountain and look at you with a certain amount of excitement and wonder. Soak it up. Enjoy your fame.

Do you think the father wrote this? Or a 16-year-old? An uneducated 16-year-old.

Would you like them here or there?

I would not like them here or there.
I would not like them anywhere.
I do not like green eggs and ham.
I do not like them, Sam-I-am.

I peel my eggs before eating.

Guy flying his flea-ridden cat all over Amsterdam with almost no experience at quadcopters. I could just see this thing crashing into a local school and infecting the kids with some sort of flea-borne plague. Now that would be a catastrophe.

I get it! Now that's funny!

Where can I find any old school jumpsuits? Any help would be awesome.
    Thanks

I think Sears might still sell the Farmer John's. The French ParaBoots? Can't help you there.

Some experienced jumpers were talking about this the other day. One guy said he got a definite falling sensation mid-dive and it really freaked him out, but it has only ever happened the once.

It could be one of your dearly-departed friends swooping down to dock on you but from being out of practice they dropped onto your back instead.

You never know. It might have happened.

Did you not read the fine print on those restraining orders? It mentioned not contacting them on FaceBook.

I voted to keep the same. Partially for the same reasons that I support a three years in the sport rule for the tandem rating. I wish that were a requirement for AFF. It's always boggled me that someone could get an AFF rating with less than 500 jumps and less than three years in the sport and teach brand new skydivers the ins and outs of surviving. This combined with the fact that its never been easier to get an AFF rating than it is right now. AFF courses used to have a high failure rate. I rarely see someone repeat a course or the jumps in the courses I've seen in the last few years.

Where's Don Yahrling and Paul Sitter when you need them?

So next question (ofcourse I'm going to ask my instructors to run me through the landing tips again), any tips for getting a smoother landing? :P

At the risk of sounding dismissive, absolutely do not take any tips from here for getting a smoother landing. None of us have seen your landings and trying to implement anything somebody might say here could get really bad for you.

You have to TRUST your instructors. They're watching your landings. They'll give you tips on what to do. Don't take advice on this off the internet. Something somebody might say here might just pop up in your head as you're about to land, and what if it's wrong? Skydiving is not something you learn through the mail.
