  1. Thanks for all of the help. I think I will call javalin and ask about the closing order. It makes sence to close the container so the lines dont get caught. BOC shure seems alot less involved. However, I feel better about the pull out sys. in a freefly enviornment. Comments one way or the other??? You only live once, but cowards die a thousand deaths!
  2. I recently purchased a used(but like new) 93 J4 w/ a sabre 210. It has a Pull-out type system, where the straight pin is connected to a pillow velcroed to the bottom of the container. The line passes through a grommet between the pillow and the pin. My question is, How do you pack the darn thing so as to not have a "hard pull" on deployment. I have searched the forums and found 60 + pages to do with pull out. Most of the stuff I saw was Pull out vs BOC not how to pack. Thanks for any Help/Input you guys (gals) can give. 3. Wow! im shocked. when i made the original post i never expected to get so much feedback. Cool You only live once, but cowards die a thousand deaths!
  4. Thanks to the ladies for the responce. Its good to get a female opinion on what is offensive and not. I definatly can see where it would get tiersome putting up with the "stuff" that you guys sometimes go through at DZs. If this helps... Most cases guys mean nothing but flattery. We just sometimes let our mouths out-run our brains. O-yeah it gets worse the more of us their is in a group. We play to each others stupidity. You only live once, but cowards die a thousand deaths!
  5. Not at all confused at what you are saying. Not trying to be a jerk. Not even disputing what you said (women leave DZs because men give them extra attention). I agree..... To an extent. The simple and inoccent act of noticing/ noting that female skydivers are "HOT" is hardly cause to abandon the sport. Maybe I should see skydivers not as male or female, but as skydivers; I DO--- I see them as equal in skill, ability, etc... I just simply said that women skydivers are pretty. I did not use any derogatory titles like chick, babe, etc nor did I say any of color remarks. I have asked several of my female friends (not skydivers) to read what is being said, none of them found it offensive. I think that you may have taken my comments for a little more than they are worth. OK maybe once apon a time there were more female s in the sport. I dont think that comments like mine are the only (or even on of) reasons that they left. Sexism / Sexual harassment was probably a cause but -come on-. Give me a female instructor or teacher any day. To me they are easier to learn from and to just be arround. If anything me post was but a plea to get more women involved. To let them know that they are appreciated (both their looks and their ability). FYI: The lady that jumped last weekend, put my flying to shame. She was awesome!!! BIGWAY: no hard feelings----- you are welcome at my DZ anytime (bring a women). You only live once, but cowards die a thousand deaths!
  6. WTF!!! I was simply making a compliment to the other(read better) sex. Dude if you are so insecure as to think that a female would take offense to such comments, than I am sorry. I certainly did not mean any offense to you or any other women. If you want disrespect why dont you search for some of the most frequently viewed photos on this sight. Ill bet they were posted by people with more jumps than you. Also, notice that I refrain from using profanity in my post(not that I dont usually) I didnt want to offend anyone. I see that you have the same concerns(not). I am a FNG to skydiving, never claimed otherwise. Not "looking up" women at the DZ, just taking notice to her beauty at hand. Again, I am sorry if I offended anyone (mostly sorry if i offended any women) but I meant no harm. You only live once, but cowards die a thousand deaths!
  7. Is it just me, or are women skydivers totaly HOT? I mean like SMOKE'IN!!! My home DZ is in Malvern, AR. Not many women there, generally a testostirone(sp) fest. First girl skydiver last week. Man I think Im going to post our DZ in Cosmo./Seventeen or some other female assosiative mag. Shout Out!!! You only live once, but cowards die a thousand deaths!
  8. Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. Names Chris. I started jumping (S/L) in Malvern AR. Finaly got to the top (10,000) at my DZ. MAN WHAT A RUSH!! Any info or suggestions(sp) would be greatly welcomed. No gear of my own to list yet. (But I am Looking) Have been jumping Sabre 210 in a Javalin container. 9. I jumped the rig last weekend (wow! hard opening). One thing that I notices about the rig was it didnt have the metal tube housing for the cutaway line, it was just yellow plastic line inside fabric. I didnt like that. Does anyone know how expencive it would be to get the metal tube put in. P.S. I emailed javelin, but figured it would take a week or so for them to reply. Thanks for any help!! You only live once, but cowards die a thousand deaths!
  10. Does the new info change previous values. Thanks for any help that can be given. P.S. The container has not had the closing loop mod You only live once, but cowards die a thousand deaths!
  11. TO EVERYONE: THANKS FOR ALL OF YOUR HELP. You only live once, but cowards die a thousand deaths!
  12. Thanks for the info. The container is in good "nick". I dont know about the mod to the closing loop. (Could anyone explain this to me so I can have some idea about it while asking.) The main seems to have around 600+- jumps, dont get me wrong-- it looks good, lines in good shape(micro), no rips, etc... it is just somewhat faded. Man. tag is not readable. Rig was packed in hanger or inside building (out of sun). Reserve well maintained... THANKS You only live once, but cowards die a thousand deaths!
  13. Im new, on jump #12. I have come accross a rig for sale --$2500. The rig is a javalin J5/Saber210(ugly)/PD 2?? Reserve/the rig has mini 3ring, mini risers, and cypress (due for 4 year). As far as I know all of the gear DOM = 1996. It all looks good but main is well used. He also said he would throw in a altimeter and other odds/ins. Is it worth it? Thanks for any help.
