  1. Im in Northern California but ill travel anywhere. Im not being in charge....I will work the D side in this boogie :-)
  2. I think all the ATCer's that jump should all just meet up and have our own little boogie somewhere. Id be intrested to see how many controllers out there are jumping. Someone who knows the in's and outs should organize......Any takers???
  3. Well, ive only been in the sport 1 year now and ready to go hit up a big DZ in the state. Live in Northern Calif and have some pretty big DZ's within a 100sm radius of me. My local DZ doesn't jump much because its a smaller atmosphere, typically weekends in which Im usually working but I work at the airport so I can usually squeze off a jump during lunch. All the local fun jumpers are tough to get a hold of and we all have wierd schedules. I don't really feel the most comfortable transitioning to a new DZ in which I know no one. Anyone know of a good DZ in NORCAL that isn't so clique and wont give me a load of crap for showing up. Ive just heard some bad things about the NORCAL big DZ's. Don't want to be a BITCH but I don't want to go somewhere that Im not welcome.
  4. Well, the main packer at my dropzone expects me to understand his packing instructions like ive been doing it for ever. I need to learn to pack to knock out this damn A liscence and because my gear is on the way. Any suggestions or information out there to give me the basics of packing because I can't learn from this guy. It just isnt gonna work.
  5. Im definatly gonna wait until im done, im just reading about equipment and looking for recomendations on what people use. I preplan everything I do. But research is limited to reading about manufactures and why their equipment is the best, curious as to what you would recomend. Do I jump a rental for 100 jumps or do I get a rig and get comfortable in my own equipment? Im just curious as to what the norm is and what is recomended. I need advice cause I don't know anything about equipment other then its expensive and saves my life!!! Thanks for the help. Mark
  6. Well, Im new to the sport and certifing soon. Im gonna want to buy my equipment soon so I can get comfortable and used to it. Dont see the point in renting equipment for a long period of time and then buying and jumping something new. I think I would benefit from getting some stuff and just getting comfortable. Anyways, been searching the used classifieds on complete systems and also browsing around different items as well. Im 6ft 190lbs. For a novice newbie, what do you expierienced jumpers and riggers recomend? I don't mind spending money on a good looking safe rig, but don't need to buy the professional hardcore super expensive stuff either. Any help is appreciated. Thanks AngryMK
