  1. Hey Dude I've been out here in Aus now for 3 weeks. Of cause I came with my rig I had a little problem with the whole weight issue. It was over and I didn't want to argue too much as i'd been to a beer festival earlier that day and was trying very hard to seem sober! The nice lady asked if i had anything else in the bag that I could remove in order to get it to the correct weight so I removed my log book. I discovered that if you keep hold of the bag when its on the scales you can remove about 10kg without it fluctuating to badly! I traveled through Hong Kong and had no problems there what so ever. I still haven't hit the DZ yet and I leave Sydney on the 8th........... anyone out there going to Picton this week? Or just fancy a beer or 5? PM me Scott To beer! the cause of, and solution to, many of lifes problems
  2. They have bowling balls for packing weights. I thought that was pretty cool To beer! the cause of, and solution to, many of lifes problems
  3. Of cause I won't be making jokes like that. I have however heard rumors of the joke mentioned carried out on board the aircraft. This was way before 9/11 and all other bad events afterwards. I don't think us Brits would be dull enough to pull that kind of crap now days! (I hope not) Thanks for the input guys, anyone else had any problems with carry on rigs? Cheers Vicki, very helpful . 4. Thanks mate, thats what i thought. It's up to them in the end. I'm looking examples of whats happened to people in the past? Kind of trying to weigh up the odds. I remember reading a post in the past about the TSA cutting a reserve pin with pliers! This might have been checked baggage though? To beer! the cause of, and solution to, many of lifes problems
  5. Hey all Sorry I don't want to repost, and I’ve used the search function but not come up with what I want. I'm looking to hear about any problems people have had when carrying rigs as hand luggage from UK airports. I've done it before and have had to call for supervisors and get explosive swab tests etc. This was at Gatwick, UK but the USA side didn't even question my rig at all
