  1. At least others are having the same issue, always nice to know yr not alone! Although cannot put the PDC in reserve flap as they have removed that pouch completely and replaced it with sealed clear plastic...seems a lot of thought and effort has gone into designing out something that worked just fine and replacing it with something that does not work at all.... xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx You have to step out the door to find yr density....or is that destiny? maybe both
  2. Not sure if this has been posted before apologies if it has. I have a new Javlin Od, DOM Jan 08', they have moved the document pouch from its orginal location under the reserve closing flap to the middle bottom of the rig where it rests against the small of your back. It has a smaller sleeve within that pouch that holds the docs and I am sure this is fine when flying flat or indeed sit, however when head down this pouch inflates and your docs disappear into the ether as I found out 2nd jump on the rig losing my packing cert and rigger card I have since tested it twice with blank pieces of paper having the same result. Just wondered if anyone else has had the same problem, I realise its not a big issue or a safety concern, but it is an annoyance and could be problematic if you lose yr docs when not at your home DZ. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx You have to step out the door to find yr density....or is that destiny? maybe both
  3. thanks for the names guys, we are going to make it Gap and will use the contact info you posted. Thanks again.
  4. Hoping for a bit of info, basically am going over to France for a trip end of this month, thinking of Gap or Lapalisse but am pretty open on DZ. What I am really looking for is any reccommendations on good quality English speaking feefly coaches operating from French DZ's, head down being the main discipline, although one of the group does want some head up coaching. Any help much appreciated xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx You have to step out the door to find yr density....or is that destiny? maybe both
  5. Multilateral disarmament has long been a global ideal by pacifists, the praciticalites of such an undertaking are immense. A global governing body controlling the staged decommisioning of a global nuclear Arsenal, spread across the continents and goverments. Ensuring that parity is being achieved along with responsible disposable of the by products is beyond what we can achieve in the world right now. What we need is one brave nation to offer up the unilateral disarmament of their weapons base...any takers???!! Its not unlike being the first one to put down your weapon in a room full of proven killers, all with weapons drawn (UK / US / France all included here and all cited for war crimes at one time or another)and saying "come on guys, this is just silly!" I imagine it would seriously increase your chances of being shot! Therein lies the ongoing problem of the arms race, thats without throwing in the added problem of odd despot dictatorship that wants to run the other way up the street and get nuclear as opposed to getting rid of it! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx You have to step out the door to find yr density....or is that destiny? maybe both
  6. As skydivers we have to accept that we all have a HUGE carbon footprints, now whilst not being a tree hugger or a 9 litre Pickup driving Redneck, this thought has made me think a little. Has anyone else thought about this? Its pretty tricky to say you care about the enviroment, which I do whilst continuing to burn that jet fuel every weekend! I also got too thinking that it makes BASE jumpers more envriomentally friendly than skydivers! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx You have to step out the door to find yr density....or is that destiny? maybe both
  7. Mik, I a big group (10+ all Brits) of my mates are @ Z-Hills right now and will be there during your trip, they are all good guys, all ex students of Martin Williams PHD skydiving and ranging from 200-1000+ jump exp level, spoke to one of them on Sunday and they sound like they are having a blast, lots of Free and Hybrid jumps going on. PM and I will give you some contact details. Couldn't make it myself due to work commitments xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx You have to step out the door to find yr density....or is that destiny? maybe both

  9. Quick question, to which I hope someone can point me in the right direction. I know this site has a DZ locator on it, which you can browse by continent, then drill down to country, but is there anywhere I can go which has an actual map of a country with the DZ's marked on it? For example I am thinking of doing some jumping on the French "savage coast" but without clicking on each of the DZ's own website links in a specific country its hard to easily identify where they are. I know the name of some give it away, such as Perris Valley but say "Parachutisme 74" wouldn't clearly tell you that DZ is located on the French /Swiss border close to Chamonix. Anyway if anyone knows of a site that can help, a link to it would be much appreciated. Thanks xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx You have to step out the door to find yr density....or is that destiny? maybe both
