I struggled a lot with fear. I thought I was the only one at the dropzone that's dealing with this. I would speak about it and people would tell me, don't worry it will go away after 20 jumps. At 30 I was still terrified. I would sit in the plane and wish I was anywhere else on the planet. Then people said it would go away after 50 jumps. At 60 I was seriously considering to stop jumping as the fear was overpowering the fun and just not worth it. I would start getting scared 4 days before jumping already and have serious anxiety on the day. I tried different relaxing techniques but nothing worked. Then I started using natural calming tablets on jumping days. It worked wonders. I realized that my fear was physical anxiety and couldn't be overcome with mindfulness. I just needed that to get more comfortable. Now on 85 jumps and the fear is gone. I still have normal fear but not overwhelming anxiety, and I actually like that fear. Worked for me... Good luck!

Hi All, I'm looking at getting these Choppers glasses, but notice there are gaps in the foam. Will this work with an open face helmet, or does the foam need to seal completely? I often see pictures of open face helmets with sunglasses, but not sure if they're 100% sealed for wind? Thanks for your help :)

I recently completed my AFF, and also had a hard time reading the analog altimeter. I realized on jump 6 or so what my brain was doing. When the needle goes around the bottom and starts moving up and not down, my brain didn't adjust. So on the left side, just above 8 is 8.5, but on the right side, just above 4 is 3.5 NOT 4.5. This is so dumb, but I honestly read halfway up and not down. After I realized my stupid mistake I found it much easier to read. I've ordered a digital and waiting for it at the moment.

hi all, Awesome to be on Dropzone.com!! I'm a beginner...finished AFF and busy with ISP's. LOVING IT!! Having the time of my life!! Spending aaaaaallll my money Like really, this sport is kak expensive. Anyway, I'm from SA, jumping in Robertson....met some awesome crazy skydivers I'm over eager...understandably so, cos skydiving is so amazing! I just ordered a cookie Fuel helmet and think I'm the boss now. Need to buy gear and move from student gear, but will post some questions in the relevant threads once I've read through them. If all goes well....I'll be around for a while. So...see ya
