  1. i got here many answers for so many questions i had at my beginning (there is always and still a lot to learn!!!) - which i really appreciate a lot. so i decided to put here pics from a sitfly (one of my first ones) 2 months ago. i got my new freefly suit this week, but haven't try it nor photo it yet. i promise to put pics with it too when i'll have some without the help from you - good people on these forums, i guess i couldn't like the air the way i do. blue sky and be safe! Ori. (enjoy the pics. photographer: Guy Ofer) http://www.orikuper.printroom.com
  2. yeh - my father also said something about coughing... and it does sound like it can help. it's good to hear (read) that somebody really do that and that it helps! thanx, Ori. http://www.orikuper.printroom.com
  3. i jumped 3 today, and it was all ok! i kept me legs in movement all the time, and flexed them while doing the spirals (i once hop and poped on 4900 so i had a lot of time for doing those spirals). i also took some long breaths in the plane on the way up (for keep my body with enough oxigen). well thanx again everyone - u helped me a lot here! blue sky, be safe! Ori. http://www.orikuper.printroom.com
  4. ok - i'll do that flex and relex... thnk u rigging65! http://www.orikuper.printroom.com
  5. thanx for you answers, i really appreciate this! kallend - that's a good piece of information. on that time i didn't even mentioned that i was going to skydive, but the last time i gave blood - yes, i told them i was going to jump. anyway - for how long after giving blood i have to wait before skydiving? hookitt - yeh, two guys told me about that flexing of flighter... but can't it jsut do the opposite? i mean - that effort of flexing can finish my last powers...can't it? anyway i think i'll try this 'knees up' thing. it sounds very reasonable... thanx again to everybody, Ori. http://www.orikuper.printroom.com
  6. Today was my 76th jump, the 10th with my own rig (yeh!!! i bought a Javlin with Sabre170 and i love it). the jump was great, i was sitting and trying to stand, a short track, then a shorter one on the back, then belly again, alti, and open at 4000. it opened fine, i was happy to see i'm close to the DZ, i did one spiral down for losing height, then some S's and then it came: on something like 2000-2500 i felt my mouth getting dry, and i had a dizziness and sickness that just got stronger on my way down. on final, when i was 30-40 meters above the ground - i saw these 'blur blcak spots' instead of the ground... if 2 minutes before i was afraid of faint before i get to the ground, now i was really afraid... i got to the ground, i was still awake, god knows where i got the power to flare from, and sat down immediately - as part of the flare. i stood up, wondering whether to call somebody to bring me water or not, and when i felt i hadn't the powers to shout, i decided to go bcak myself (stupid!!!!!). the next point in time that i remember, was hearing them call 'who is it there? it's Kuper - what happend?' and i found myself on my knees. the few seconds between standing and sitting on my knees were missed by me somehow (i probably fainted)... all the rest - the coke, the tea, the chocolate - is history. now i want to hear your opinions about WHY it happend, and more important - WHAT you think I HAD TO DO to get out of it??? just some things that i thought may be the cause and other things that you might ask - i'm not sure what was the trigger - if any at all: 1. two beers the day before. 2. i slept well before jump. 3. i felt good all way up in the plane, and as i wrote here - most of the jump. 4. i gave blood 2 days ago. that maybe sounds bad, but they said i just can't fly 24 hours after. in this case we're talking about 48 hours, + the last time i gave blood i jumped 3 times two days after (the same period of time in this case...) 5. i ate and drank in the morning - like everytime. 6. i've never fainted in my life. 7. i don't have any blood pressure nor sugar problems. 8. i never felt this way when skydiving. so guys - what the hell happend to me? and what can i / sombody else do next time it happens? thanks, and have a Blue Sky, and a Happy Passover! Ori. http://www.orikuper.printroom.com
  7. i'd love to - but it's 198MB http://www.orikuper.printroom.com
  8. well, all the other parts are of stills pics, but just that part is a movie... i encoded it with a convertor, but the quality is really not good http://www.orikuper.printroom.com
  9. it's stills pics... http://www.orikuper.printroom.com
  10. ok. so after i was shot with a sign in my hands - i want to put the movie in a project of Premier 5. i DON'T have a video card, therefore i asked the photographer to give me the material as it is - on video. now the problem is that my Premier doesn't know that DVcodec!!! ahhhh!!!! what can i do? i want that movie to be in my project! please help! thanx and Blues, Ori. http://www.orikuper.printroom.com
  11. well it says :'to Clover (it's the name of my department in the army) with love, from Ori Kuper (me)'. the profile - it was a mistake. i changed it. thanx for notice! http://www.orikuper.printroom.com
  12. i came with a beautiful sign made of KAPA (a hard 'polysomething' board that can be attached to pics for hanging on wall) and the instructor told me 'no way' and advised me to make it of cloth. the day after - i came with the cloth, but there wasn't any photographer i knew, and i also like the fact that i have the jump for practice with it. i jumped with it, the upper stitch tore, but it was kind of cool and stable falling. (i took it with me till the ground, and then realise wat was torn and thought agian that it's not so clear to read what was written on it). the weekend after (3 days ago) i made another sign and jumped with it and with photographer (and two other guys on his sides!) again - the upper stitch tore, but the real problem is that in the video you can't read anything. just to imagine... but i do belive that if i'll show it to people who knows me and the issue on the sign - can understand. i attached 2 frames from his video. another things that were wrong: 1. on the practice jump i practiced in straighten my legs out in order of not flying backwards. in the plane - the photographer told me he didn't want me to do anything with my body position. so i didn't do... and he had to track all the jump :) 2. the sign was big. too big maybe for onw guy to hold... 3. i don't know why, and i hope it happend just as a compensation to the sign - my legs were spread like hell!!! but who cares - it was a great fun, and the people who can't understand - can jump! thanx you all for your advice, and blue sky! Ori. http://www.orikuper.printroom.com
  13. though i'm logged in. why? thanx Ori. http://www.orikuper.printroom.com
  14. Will it be valid in other places in the world (i'm asking for a friend)? is it known and authorized by the USPA? thanx, Ori. http://www.orikuper.printroom.com
  15. diabolopilot, i think i'll talk with the DZO about that, and do it the way you suggested. and hey! thanx for being the only one on my side!(just kidding i know you guys write everything just to help me doing it the safest way possible) this weekend i think i'll just keep on dreaming about it. The wind (on ground) 21-29knots on Friday, and 7-27 Konts on Saturday http://www.orikuper.printroom.com
  16. Thanx for all the things you wrote. but i want to understand - let's say i jump with that card thing. if i'll throw it just before tracking, and then open without it? is it still so bad? if it won't be good while working with the photographer - that's really bad, cause if i throw it out - i won't have it for another try :( i mean - if it works, and i'm ok with the photographer falling rate - what can still go wrong? (just for the record, and though i think it doesn't matter in my newbie case - i have 56 jumps.... hip hip..) thanx again, please give me more things to think about. that helps a lot! Ori. http://www.orikuper.printroom.com
  17. thanx for the answers guys! the cardboard does sound better in that case, and the linestretchs picture is awesome!!!! i'll decide what to do and let you know or see... i hope it'll go all right :) thanx again! Ori. http://www.orikuper.printroom.com
  18. Hi! i want to jump with a banner or a sign and i want to know some things before doing it: 1. is there any prefered material? a piece of thin wood? or a white flag or a piece of cloth will do better? 2. if cloth - where do i need to hold it? behind ? with 2 small ropes attached to the bottom ot it? 3. do i have to do something special with the legs or just be in the regular boxman position and arch... (i suppose the flag does change my falling into to wind)? any suggestions from things you've seen or filmed will be appreciated. thanx and blue skies! Ori. http://www.orikuper.printroom.com
  19. someday maybe... it was just my 48th jump today http://www.orikuper.printroom.com
  20. it rocks! i loved the opening! you got there pretty good materials! and ofcourse the editing and sound, duh... i don't have a camera (nor permission to jump with one) and i'm not a FFer (nor a good RW partner yet) but i do love editing, and i decided to edit a skydiving movie. so 3 month ago, i asked one guy to edit a movie of his material and at his home. i stayed there till 03:45am, and if i could - i'd stay longer (the guy is married with kids). maybe that's the reason he doesn't even smile when he sees me in the dz i called it Leonardo's Dream. you can watch it here:http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ftp/public/freefly/leonardo.wmv tell me what you think... oh and BTW, i just got bcak from the DZ. i've jump once
  21. really? hmmmm... man it' so funny - i found that movie yesterday (before i read your message here) and it was so great that i wrote you an Email, but Outlook had some problems, and after that i forgot it. but hey! i'll copy the mail and paste it here ,because i want everybody to know how great is your movie: hey man! i watched you movie Outpatients2 and now the whole keyboard it covered with spittle! i'm not allowed to do FF w/o my own rig (yet), and on the last few jumps i found out that those track dives on the back are my new fetish... and all the ff parts in your movie, and the music, and the wingman!waa! it's all made me pray harder for a good weather on weekend :) Great jub, keep it on! Blue sky, Ori Kuper, Israel. so that was supposed to be in your mailbox yesterday - but here it's better... (yeh! so i download every piece of movie from that FTP! so what? ha? it's great! go DaveG!) and now - DaveG - about the track on the back - at the first time it turned me upside down, because i wasn't ready for such a powerfull wind coming beneath my legs. one of the instructor at the dz told me to push the legs down aginst that wind, and put my arms near my body with my hands convex toward the ground (for catch some wind) and YUP! it was so much fun when i succeede it for the first time! just lay there and see my shoes and pants flying in the wind! but there was a problem... after 3-4 seconds it started bringing me to a pose of half headdown (which it not such a good track, and also forbidden to me). so last week i asked again someone else, and as he told me - i'm now trying to be on the back and not just push the wind down with my legs , but to arch and bring the wind to find it's place beneath my back. and it does help! i did this last week for something like 8-10 sec! i'm now searching for someone with camera that will jump with me and record it - because i want to see if it looks good like it feels. oh, and for the begining of it - i start with a regular track on belly and then turn to the back, or just get out from the plane with my back to the wind and laying on it. cause when i tried to get to a track on the back from belly body position, it jsut fliped me all over... i hope it helps you... tell me how u doin'! thanx again, and please tell me something i don't know next time! (just kidding) Ori. http://www.orikuper.printroom.com
  22. thanx very much for the advices, but 1 hour before the time i had to meet the man, he just told me he 'couldn't come'... i think he decided not to sell in the price we were talking about. 2 days passed and he didn't call me again i guess i'll say goodbye to all those imaginary movies that were in my mind while waiting to see this rig... shit happens... some day i'll find a rig that suits me (size+money). but hey! i did learned some things... thanx again, Ori. http://www.orikuper.printroom.com
