  1. Great advice, thanks everyone! :-) I like planes almost as much as jumping out of them.
  2. An update: All has been going GREAT with AFF. However, I have to retake level 5! I jumped on Saturday and my nerves were a bit high, was sort of tired and had a breakup almost two weeks back, not that its any excuse- I exited not by stepping out looking at the prop but by turning almost into a ball, and got freaked out in freefall when I lost control and started spinning. My mind went 500mph in the other direction, instead of arching I thought, "Oh shit- oh shit I'm actually going to fail! Omg, gotta fix these legs, why am I spinning?!?!?!" My arms were rigid and unsymmetrical and the wind was flying me. I was unstable at 5500ft and my instructor had to help me pull, ugh. I had a line twist I was able to kick out of. I started my flight pattern a bit high but executed a great landing. Anyone have any advice on relaxing in the plane, even exercises?? My ADHD doesn't help with this either, I'm legit actually worried for my next jump right now.. I like planes almost as much as jumping out of them.
  3. This looks soooo painful https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYopLVTmV-o I like planes almost as much as jumping out of them.
  4. Thank you Lee! I will be studying that information thoroughly, at least until I hear of any bonfires at the dz :]! I like planes almost as much as jumping out of them.
  5. Thank you for the response, I'm hopeful it will go well :)! I'm still sort of amazed and mildly intimidated that I'm supposed to learn all of this in 6-8 hours! I like planes almost as much as jumping out of them.
  6. Haha- imagine if school wasn't out, football practice in session when you land..Come do a night jump here in Florida, the mosquitos will literally devour you is
  7. Yes visualization on the plane was super helpful for me. ADHD is why I cannot relax or meditate, I swear haha. I'm confident that I'll do well for the freefall portion of AFF3, especially with the tunnel time.. now I go to ground school on Wednesday and learn all about the canopy. My heart stopped a bit when another guy on this thread said he landed so far from the dz that someone had to pick him up in a truck.. anyone else have interesting landing experiences? 8. An update: I completed AFF level 2 successfully this morning, didn't miss a thing. What an amazing difference relaxing made :-) I think the wind tunnel gave me some more confidence in the air too.. just maybe. Thanks to everyone for you awesome advice & responses! 9. And your videos are amazing. Your tunnel suit looks better than mine.. I like planes almost as much as jumping out of them.
  10. The tunnel went well!!! I got it towards the last two.minutes,at first it was difficult arching properly. I kept arching my chest or butt out more so than the my lower midsection.. and honestly part of that comes from the modeling I've done, they tell us to arch but not in boxman haha. I feel way more prepared for my jump on Saturday. My tendancy however is to focus on correction rather than relaxing and being "teachable", a trust thing.. I sort of react rather than respond, I'm naturally a very intense and jumpy person . As soon as I had perfect form everything went so much smoother. I will probably be doing another session in a week and a half before AFF3, then the overnight camp on June 27th. I couldn't upload the whole video of my training via mobile, will do that later from my pc and link in this thread. I put a short bit on my instagram in the interim, the fun part.. @cassieaf I like planes almost as much as jumping out of them.
  11. I called ifly Orlando, next overnight camp will be on June 27the, she said it will start between 11-12 at night. 15 minutes with coaching for reduced rate, I will be there that evening. I like planes almost as much as jumping out of them.
  12. Haha unlikely, I'm crap at dancing, not that bold! I like planes almost as much as jumping out of them.
  13. I will be sure to post in the women's form going forward, definitely want to get honest advice. I'm pretty mature about handling attention I've received outside of the dz, will be sure to take heed at the dz too. In other areas of life, men are intimidated and I just end up hearing or noticing, from what I've been hearing sjydivers are different. I like the whole safety factor, in fact this guy who was on his first tandem jump bumped into me so hard while I was stepping into my gear I almost fell over.. no apology or anything. Don't think he was from the US, or even spoke much English. That gesture alone made me more nervous before my jump. I didn't say anything but going forward I feel better know it will be well heard out. I like planes almost as much as jumping out of them.
  14. I'm currently an AFF student, making my third jump this upcoming Saturday. I had some difficulty with my form on my last jump, so I decided to book five minutes at the wind tunnel here in Orlando for this Thursday, just two days before my jump. I will be with an instructor, but he will be limited on the "coaching".. I have yet to purchase the AFF tunnel training package, I'd like to see if I can do without it (joys of being a college sophomore). I know I need to work more on bending my legs and arching, but the tunnel training is all new for me. After this AFF tandem jump, it's ground school and then after that I jump unattached for the following five jumps.. (oh boy). If anyone has any advice for what I should be focusing on during the training, that'd be much appreciated! I like planes almost as much as jumping out of them.
  15. Great info on the motion sickness. Haha yes I love him.. three years strong. It would be great if he could do this with me. I died of laughter at the work-lunch scenerio.. :) I like planes almost as much as jumping out of them.
  16. I'll just wear a trash bag.. :D I like planes almost as much as jumping out of them.
  17. Stress is fun.. unless its Mon-Friday corporate America stress.. Skydiving "stress" is euphoric lol. Will I still g et hit on if I put on a really mean face, use sailor language and drink like a man? I like planes almost as much as jumping out of them.
  18. Thank you, he seemed optimistic about this :) I like planes almost as much as jumping out of them.
  19. I got some folks on here who advised me to check out the wind tunnel here in Orlando, I booked 5 minutes two days before my next jump.. which is Saturday.. oh crap haha I like planes almost as much as jumping out of them.
