  1. Skydive KC will be hosting SVCO tunnel boogie Sept. 14-16 2012. Free load organizing all skill levels! No registration, 24$ King Air jumps to 14k. Discounted tunnel time will be available. 2. We do evaluate jumpers experience levels vs. what wing loading they are at... We don't use a fixed chart or anything at this point. Most jumpers in the midwest are making less than a 100 jumps a year as a weekend warrior... Its pretty easy to see based on logged jumps, weight and wing loading who is a potential problem... As for hook turns they are allowed once Ok'd by DZO or S&TA!! I see we have some old school KAMO guys on here... Nice to see some dinosaurs still active in the sport!!

  3. At our DZ we make you cycle it on as well as verify that the unit is in date upon waivering... I know most of you non DZO's hate this and or will not jump at my DZ or others that force this requirement, however I'm confident there will be a day when most if not all DZ's will require it.... We mandated it over 6 years ago and have 3 legitimate saves so it does make since... DZ's have a right to protect there clientele and reputation too..

  4. Our DZ operates two 56 model 182's. I have one wing X kit and one without... I fly both often and see a small difference in climb time to alt. both are stock engines and are only a few serial numbers apart. The gross weight increase is helpful in being able to carry a bit more fuel on hot days as well as larger jumpers. I have yet to do the other aircraft based on the cost vs. notice in overall turn times!!

  5. NO REGISTRATION Boogie Jump Tickets out of the King Air will be $24 cash (3% more on credit/debit cards, NO Checks) Speciality Aircraft Jumps (T-Bone) $28.

Saturday night best dressed Halloween Costume Prize winners will receive....1ST PLACE: 4 jump tickets 2ND PLACE: 1 jump ticket & t-shirt 3RD PLACE: t-shirt and goodie bag.

***Free Beer, Free Camping, Free hot showers, food vendors will be onsite***

Also, Super 8 in Butler will have discounted rooms for anyone needing to stay for the weekend. Call 660-679-6183 to get your room booked!!!!

  6. The T-bone is online and can be available for loads if its not sold by then. As for jump ticket prices, Im guessing a few dollars more per head to get that plane flying. Its a cool airplane to fly and jump so who knows we might do some formation loads over the boogie weekend!!

  7. SDKC is happy to announce it will begin operating a King Air C90 in a few weeks. We started this season out with a Twin Bonanza Excalibur and have already upgraded to a turbine in just a few months. Midwest jumpers here you have it a full time turbine in KC something long awaited!!

  8. Prizes include 30 min. of tunnel time from Skyventure Colorado, Certificates off on UPT, Mirage, Vigil, Cookie composites, Velocity Sports just to name a few!! Also 1 "FREE" registration to Couch Freaks 2011 and Redemption boogie 2011. I know there is more as I will have my event coordinator update this as more comes in. I want to thank all the sponsors and manufactures for being generous and assisting in making this a great event for 2011!

  9. Registration will be $20.00 per person will include camping, aircraft ferry cost, meal ticket for sat night. We will have boogie bags with lots of cool stuff for each registered jumper. I will post jump tickets as we get closer knowing more on current fuel cost. Looking forward to having a great event and meeting some new faces.

  10. SDKC will host its second 4 day boogie this Year. May 27th-30th with a Caravan. Last year was a great event with a good turnout!! Manf. raffles both Fri. and Sat. night. We have lots of great stuff to give away!! Sat. meal provided.. More to come along with a list of sponsors. Also, come out and see our newest aircraft added to the fleet that will be online this summer working for you to 13k. See you there!!

  11. SDKC operates 2-Cessna's, Great facilities and easy access to KC. We are an active student training DZ with a good mix of up-jumpers. We are open weekends as well as some weekdays. We have a turbine over the Memorial Day weekend and have new student/tandem equipment. DZO manages the airport. DZ bunkhouse, rigging services, gear sales. Great midwest vibe with very friendly staff. Come check us out. AAD's required... Only drawback is if you are not jumping one!!

  12. This info was only one manf. of AAD's and just so you know it was not Airtec's info. I would guess the Cypress unit to be the most widely used unit so who knows what there numbers are.

While I totally understand the issue is not so much what is safer as is telling someone or mandating use of such units to rub people wrong, however its what I feel is best for my company and specific situation. I realize this limits some that would otherwise spend money and support my DZ. I view it as another form of risk management.
