  1. Thanks everyone for replying! It seems the feeling is between 2.1 and 2.2ish. That's what I was going for. Back when I got it, it seemed like PD was still saying stay at 2:1. Back when I loaded this canopy at 2:1 it was still fairly new to me and I wasn't as aggressive as I am now so I couldn't judge what loading was giving my best distance. Just wanted a little more input before I blow another tax refund on one of these things. Thanks!
  2. Point taken on updating my profile. I currently have over 900 jumps, and bought the velocity at 2.0:1 wing loading after making several hundred jumps on a Sam105 at 1.8:1 (before that a safire at 1.7:1) The dealer knows me well, and is not concerned, nor should he be. The reason I am deep in brakes is not digging out of a low turn, it just takes more surface area of flare when loaded higher. Now back to my original question, I am looking to upsize, and I'm looking to find out the appropriate size for distance. I have heard the blanket 2.0:1 but was looking for input from people with experience on this canopy.
  3. I currently jump a velocity and love it. But since I bought it I have put on weight. I jump an 84 with an exit weight of 205. It still flies fine, but I have to get deep into the toggles just for canopy to fully level out and the surfs are too short. So for distance, what is the best loading? Does anyone know what the record holder's wing loading was? I may be trading this to up size if anyone is looking to downsize. (I'll post that in the classifieds when I find out what size is right for me) Any input is appreciated...
  4. I'm not sure of the explanation, but this is common on most of the canopies I have jumped. The spectre (tapered 7cell at a 1.5 loading) was actually the most extreme case over heavier loaded ellipticals. On the spectre, I would experiment it with that same thing. Pull one riser down until a turn is innitiated with the toggles still set. When you let up it will continue to spin faster and faster (much faster than could be done with a toggle turn). I never saw much to worry about since undoing the toggles seemed to instantly correct this. Just don't let it go for too long...
