sony dcr 38 question/problem

i recently bought an dcr 38 and there are some problems. first problem there is no port for my cam eye 2. also im top mounting it a an n vertigo v by sky sytems and the scew is way in the front of the camera. are all the hc models like this with the screw in the front of the camera and no port for the cam eye 2. if any of you guys know other hc models where the screw is in the center and there is a port for cam eye please let me know.

Look on the spec sheet for a LANC port, that is what the Cameye's use. Most the lower end Sonys don't have LANC anymore.

the 38 does not have a lanc port... as i understand the 20,30, 40 and the 22, 32, 42,, does have the lanc port.( i have the 40 and the 42) . the 6's and 8's do not... if you use a plate in between the camera and the helmet, it should cure the off centerness or get a box. i mounted a 40 on a base helmet and it worked fine.. ebay or craigslist if the lanc is that important to you, and it is for me

Contac Roy at Rigs and Things. He has a Cam Eye item that works through the AV in/out port. Im not sure any more about it than that but it would be worth the phone call.
