blackout 0 #1 March 11, 2008 I am not planning on swooping any time soon but perhaps someone could help me. I have a sabre 170 loaded under 1:1 and it seems like I am doing pull ups on the front risers with no result. Was just trying to do front riser dives as I hear this helps with high wind penetration. I am maybe 140-150 out the door so I am sure this has something to do with it. Any comments or ideas?
the_sarge 0 #2 March 11, 2008 On the Sabre, the front riser pressure is indeed quite hard. You can try to fly your canopy in deep brakes. After releasing the brakes rapidly, your canopy will surge forward and the front risers will become softer. Of course, this will only last a couple of seconds. For better penetration in moderate winds, light back riser pressure will do more good.
superstu 0 #3 March 11, 2008 unfortunetly the pressure and the amount of fabric you're trying to pull down might be too much for you. there are ways to reduce the front riser pressure but in this situation where you're going against the wind those ways wouldn't help you much. the best thing i could say would be to either a) don't jump in those kinds of conditions, or b) if you do find yourself in those situations get small to reduce body drag and if needed look for outs.Slip Stream Air Sports Do not go softly, do not go quietly, never back down
