SkyChimp 0 #1 May 29, 2016 I met Chip at the Jumping Place with Packing Cathy in 2008. Chip loved skydiving and he loved his family. Chip would usually jump between St Mary's, Palatka, and Deland. He was a Vietnam Vet and will be greatly missed. Chip passed of a heart attack on Thursday May 19th in Jacksonville. You will be greatly missed Chip!! Obit Below...... “Chipper” Carl Parks, Jr., 64, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016. He was born December 11, 1951 in Okmulgee, OK where he had lived all his life. Chipper attended Andrew Jackson High School class of 1968, was a Vietnam veteran and served in the U.S. Army and loved skydiving. He had previously attended Oceanway Assembly of God, was an avid believer in the right to bear arms and loved Harley Davidson motorcycles. Chipper was predeceased by his son, Shane Parks; father, William Parks, Sr.; brothers, Jimmy Parks, Bruce Parks, Johnny Parks and sister, Jody Hornaker. Survivors include his wife, Linda; step sons, Kevin Barrs and Alex Stepanov; God child, Diamond Smith; bestis girlfriend, Linda Smith; mother, Willa Parks; grandchildren, Preston Barrs, Ashley Barrs; great grandchild, Isabella Barrs; nephews, Beau Parks (Emily), John Parks, Billy Parks; numerous other family and friends. Memorial services with military honors will be held Tuesday, May 31 at 9am at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd 32218, with Pastor Ricky Crews officiating.
