smiles 0 #1 November 28, 2002 Got to see & hear Sigur Ros live last night in the Vogue Theatre (Vancouver B.C. Canada) Sigur Ros plays music of iceland- simple sweeping beauty, ethereal vocals, deeply moving sound. After the concert which was definitely inspiring, we left at rear exit doors and actually met the band !!!They gave away signed t-shirts and Von cd's (their first)..signed soccer balls.... As it was their last night of the "eighteen seconds before sunrise" tour, they invited everyone to Jack's Bar for party!!!!!!!! Jonsi bought shooters all night and every time we got up to leave- they made us sit back down. This band works hard to be as natural, sincere & honest as they can. Pretty awesome that they are not recognized everywhere they go. They prefer attention deflected from themselves and focused entirely on their music. Sigur Ros is a cool band from a cool place- they bring you the beautiful landscape of their homeland with their music. Jonsi uses cello bow to play guitar which is effects laden and atmospheric. What a totally unique sound!! I first heard their music featured in Vanilla Sky. If your interested I could send you a post card with some famous landscape fotoes of Iceland on, ive already sent postcards before to two members of dropzone.com, they both asked me because they collect them. Hallur 0 #5 November 29, 2002 Hey Airmail you should come visit us sometime over here, in the summer we sometimes jump after 3 am over here in the summer. There 24 hours of daylight in the summer. So sometimes if theres enough people jumping the last load could be taking off at 3 am..kewl ha.Just dont come in the winter you only get depressed, only daylight for a few hours....blue skie When I stop skydiving is the day that I die!!!
