Start Skydiving

From the time we were "signed in" to the time all was "said and done," Robin & I couldn't be happier with our first sky dive. Living in metro Indpls., IN we have places closer, but none better than the folks at Middletown, Ohio. We're ready to rock-n-roll, again!

I have always wanted to skydive but always put it off said i would get to it at some point... A month ago today my childhood friend was killed in a car accident at 3 am. ten days before his 21st birthday. that made me realize how short life is and how quickly it can be stripped away from us. After that i told my friend that we are going to do it no more putting it off so we made our appointment to jump. Skydiving for me was away to honor my friend and o live my life to the fullest just as he did. It was so much better than i expected and will be back to jump again! Gila was an amazing instructor very confident and precise and you could tell he took pride in what he does.

Skydiving has been on my bucket list for at least 15 years, and I finally took the plunge this summer. I am so glad I chose to go to Start Skydiving! From the moment we arrived at the airport, the staff was kind and courteous. You can tell that the employees love their jobs and each other, and that was really nice to see. Registration was easy; we got through the paperwork and required safety video in less than 30 minutes. We did have to wait a couple of hours to actually jump, but there were picnic tables, shaded areas, games (cornhole and foosball) for our enjoyment. Also, you can watch staff members pack chutes and chat with them a little bit, which I thought was really neat! When it was our turn to get ready to jump, I was matched up with my instructor, Matt Harvey. All I can say is that he was absolutely awesome!! He instantly made me feel calm, secure, and even more excited to jump! I think it was his sixth jump of the day, but Matt still treated his time with me with so much enthusiasm; his excitement was as though he was jumping for the first time too, and I really appreciated that! You can tell when someone loves their job...and Matt loves his job! Things could not have gone more smoothly for the plane ride up or the jump down. Best of all, I decided to splurge and get a video and pictures of my skydive, so now I can re-live it anytime I want. I wasn't going to spend the extra money at first, but I am SO glad I did! Melanie Johnson was the camera girl, and she did a spectacular job!! She was so much fun to work with! All in all, my experience at Start Skydiving was one that I will never, ever forget! I have told so many people about the experience, and I always tell them that I will never jump anywhere else! You guys are the best!! Thanks so much!

Great time! My instructor , Lonnie Kirk made me feel relaxed and well informed. Jump was fantastic with decent visibility. The clouds were so close I could touch them. Only one little glitch. My buddy & I were told to sit down and wait for someone to call you. Letting us know it might be over 2 hours would have been nice. But we asked and had time to eat. I even flew over the Taco Bell we ate at!
Other than that hiccup IT WAS AWESOME!

This was my first experience with skydiving, something I've always wanted to do. My tandem partner was Brian and videographer/photographer was Brad. Brian was great about keeping the experience fun, lighthearted and an adventure while being extremely professional about addressing any safety concerns. And I can't say enough for Brad's work. I've seen other videos of people skydiving and Brad's work exceeded all expectations by far. I realize that I may just love the video because it's of me, but the angles and distances were truly remarkable compared to others I've seen. I would and will highly recommend StartSkydiving, and if possible, ask for Brian and Brad.

It is a really cool experience the instructor was friendly helpful laid back and fun. the jump was unreal its amazing

Basically I am scared of heights, however looking at the overall safety gears and the confident instructor jumpers I was relaxed. I did skydiving today at Middletown OH and I have to mention my instructor Lonnie Kirk , a cool person and made me feel safe. He made the overall experience very exciting and fun. Would definitely recommend him and I may go again. Cheers.

Lonnie was my guide and tandem skydiving instructor. He welcomed questions about skydiving and out the few apprehensions I had to rest. The experience took a few hours due to the cloudy weather, but the jump itself went by too quickly. The TV monitor in the hangar listed the jump line ups and weather updates, which was helpful for staying informed while on a weather hold.

With Lonnie's excellent guidance, I was able to understand exactly what I needed to do before and during the jump. He even let me steer a couple of turns before landing! All in all, skydiving was awesome and Lonnie really helped to enhance the experience for me.

Emily took some amazing photos and a video that really captured the true experience. She updated me when the video footage was being edited and then a DVD player and TV was available to review the final video before leaving the location.

I hope that I will skydive many more times in the future (at Start Skydiving!), but if I don't, I will have have these great memories thanks to Lonnie and Emily. Thank you both!! You were amazing!

My first time went perfectly! Even though I was nervous, the staff made me feel safe and comfortable. By the time we jumped, my nervousness was transformed into pure excitement and adrenaline. It was an experience of a lifetime and I can't wait to go back.

First time jumper. The staff was professional and made the experience wonderful. David Helton made me laugh and was reassuring throughout. Truly a life changing experience. Looking forward to going again!

Lonnie was amaaaaaaazing! The staff was friendly, top notch experience. I took my sister for her birthday and we will be doing this again and again and hope to jump with our flat topped buddies again!

It was my first time skydiving and it was literally the best experience of my life! my instructor was Dan P, and i wouldn't of asked for anyone else! He made me feel so comfortable and not scared at all. he explained everything so throughly and made it such an awesome time. I can't wait to go again!

Lonnie Kirk was an awesome instructor for a first timer, next time I jump I'll request him if I can. He calmed my nerves and made it so much fun. He even interacted with my parents a lot and took some awesome pictures with his wrist camera. The girls working the front desk weren't the friendliest but the manager and all the instructors were awesome! We got delayed for a while due to weather but we had a blast hanging out there!

Wow! No words to describe the feeling! Brian was my instructor for the tandem jump and he made sure all went smooth. I was very apprehensive but couldn't back out because of my friends....Brian made me comfortable enough to agree to be pushed out of a plane at 13,000 feet.
Now I have to do it again!

Start skydiving is AWESOME. The staff was friendly and relaxed which was very help seeing as I would be jumping out of a plane. Monkey lip was awesome. He helped keep me calm and really enjoy the whole experience. Mel had crazy energy and got some great pictures I will love forever. I would have never known I could make such a face if it wasn't for her stellar photo skillz. You guys both helped create one of the most memorable experiences of my life. For that I am ever greatful. You guys rock and thanks soo much! I will be back again

My instructor was Mr Lonnie Kirk, from Middletown, Oh! Great instructor! Lonnie gave very clear and easy to understand instructions. From the time we left boarding area till the time we landed, I felt very safe with Lonnie. He explained things and answered every question I had. Startskydiving.com in Middletown, Oh is a world class organization, and I highly recommend it to anyone! Scratch another one off my bucket list!

My tandem mate was Mr. McHunkness, Lonnie with the fabulous Melanie on video. My friend backed out last minute so I drove 3 hours and did this by and for myself. Lonnie laughed at my list of notes and answered every question as well as addressed my fear of heights concern. Melanie added such a personal touch to my video by remembering my comments and requests. With the pre jump reminder to breathe, relax, and have fun, we were flying. I can't tell you which part I liked best - the free fall or being able to take control of the handles and swoop thru the sky. Thanks for a truly amazing adventure!

This was a great experience! Paul did a great job of making me feel like I knew what to expect. The video that Tom took and the editing made a terrific DVD. I am so glad I decided to do this and that I went with Start Skydiving.

I made my 2nd tandem on Sunday, this time with the mustache man Dan P. Such a nice guy. All of the tandem instructors are fun and personable but I was glad to have Dan this 2nd time. Even though I'd been before he still explained everything so thoroughly that I felt like I was hearing it for the first time. I was much less anxious this time and Dan helped that along even more with his thoroughness. By the time we got to the door I was ready to go and enjoy the "ride". You forget about everything once you are out that door free falling. We were able to do a couple of slow spins which was pretty cool. I was even able to steer the canopy for a little while too. While I had more fun this time I would be remiss if I didn't point out Melanie. She was the videographer on my first jump and she is incredible. It was so worth the money for the great stills and video she took. I'd recommend doing this at least twice. Once with the videographer and once without. One you will enjoy posing for the camera, the other you will enjoy the free fall more. I'll likely do this again and perhaps even solo next time. My wife and son (over 18) also went and had a great time. There are a lot of people who say they'd never do this who just don't know what they're missing. We've gotten all kinds of respect for doing this, even more for doing it again.

I was SO incredibly lucky to have Lonnie as my tandem instructor and Melanie as my videographer!!! My video and still shots turned out much better than I had even hoped for! I will definitely be going back for more skydives at this place and will be asking for Lonnie and Melanie! Start Skydiving has made my first jump experience very exhilarating and also safe! I can't wait to go back again. The prices are cheap, but don't let that turn you away. The experience with this company will be worth a lifetime! Thank you Start Skydiving!!!

We were gifted with skydiving passes this past Christmas, and my goodness, it was the best 20 or so minutes of my life. I knew I'd like it, but I had no idea it would change my life! In terms of the facility, it's pristine. The cleanliness and upkeep itself instills confidence in you before you even step foot into the office. The staff are upbeat and positive (even if the waiver mentions death at least 3 times!). I realize that Suzanne was fairly new to the Start Skydiving family, but we wouldn't have known. Her eagerness to please and just overall professionalism really set the tone for the BEST DAY OF MY LIFE! The instructions were clear, concise, and I never once feared for my life. I kid you not, from the launch, to the canopy opening, all the way to the landing, it was smoother than a car ride. I was surely in the right hands. And speaking of hands, those hand cams caught the most outrageous photos! I'm more than happy that we got THOSE photos of sheer panic on my face.... But really, Lonnie was the best person to jump with. He was fun, informative, and really asked that I enjoy this experience to it's fullest. He welcomed me into his "office" and I'll tell ya, even top executives in the country don't have anything on these views. I would do this again in a heartbeat... oh wait, I am! Hands down, this place is amazing. The people are amazing. Lonnie is AMAZING. The views are breathtaking. The experience is life-changing. Thank you all so much!

My tandem instructor Brian did an amazing job from start to finish. he explained everything and made me feel very safe. He did a great job. Rob who did video for us did a great job too. he videotaped us from start to finish . Both were very nice to me and my girls. everything was very professional. We had a great time and would definitely do it again. Thank you.

This was an amazing gift for my 30th birthday! I've always had a fear of heights but always wanted to jump out of a plane! People thought I was crazy and the staff at Start Skydiving really helped me get over this fear! They were extremely professional! A big thanks to everyone especially Lonnie and Melanie for making this birthday unforgettable!!!

Went out to Middletown from Indy last Sunday and had an AWESOME jump! Dan was phenomenal!!! First time I had a 20,000 ft mustache ride and LOVED every second of it. I highly recommend this place to anyone of any level. Everyone was friendly and ready to fly! Thanks for a fantastic start to my Sunday guys. Can't wait to come back very soon :)
