First of all I was very surprised by the level of the professionalism at this DZ. Everything is top notch here - from the rental equipment through the procedures to the aircraft to the views from up there. On a good day you will see 3 amazing volcanoes tops on one side and the magnificent pacific ocean on the other. It is very hot there (35 degrees C most of the time). The vibe is really awesome and the atmosphere is super welcoming and fun. It is hands down - the best place to jump in Central America!

I was very surprised by the awesome time I had in Puerto San Jose. The DZ is subsidized by the Guatemalan military so don't expect your typical tandem operation. You'll need to contact the Guatemalan parachute association before hand to let them know you are coming. Also knowing some Spanish is very useful. They run a Grand Caravan which is great. The people were amazing, I even managed to get a ride from Guatemala City to the DZ. The scenery was fantastic, rivalling any I've experienced in the US. One of the three volcanoes you can see started to erupt while in flight which was incredible. If you are in Central America and have the chance I highly recommend trying to make it to Puerto San Jose for some jumps. Thanks to Ricardo for the ride and all the rest for being so welcoming.
