WTF kind of avatar is that ? looks like a canopy and a cock ? seriously...

If you look at it from the right angle I think your right. I never noticed before.

I really hope it was not supposed to be something else, because the only thing I have ever seen is a dick under canopy. And, having previously clicked to further examine, I could read the text underneath and concluded, it was--in fact--a dick under canopy.

I like it. Why be subtle?

You get me! :D I rock at four-suits Spider; I must say. B| Still, it definitely does not help solve whatever I am putting off for a short-period of time.

Concur on vitamins/nutrition. I swear by omega-3s and vitamin C to keep me feeling well and thinking positive (with a daily multi and extra vitamin D, in addition to good diet and active lifestyle).

  3. I understand; I gave fair warning not everyone would see the humor. I cannot describe why it is funny to me very well, just that as an outsider looking in, having "been there/done that" in unfortunate circumstances, it is funny to see the other points of view and getting it, though the characters do not yet.

Again, I cannot describe why it is funny to me very well. Sometimes I haven an acerbic sense of humor that some people savvy and adore, but others find adverse.

Are you telling us that we should not let Aaron Eckhart keep us from seeing this picture?

    :D

Yes, difficult as it may be at first.

  5. I do not think I have seen Field of Dreams in its entirety, nor did I even see a bit of it until recently.

I was nine-years-old when Dances with Wolves came out and I LOVED it. I have seen it several times since. Still love it. :)
And speaking of young crushes, I also really liked Wind in his Hair. :$:)

  6. Nicely done!

I did not expect to appreciate this film as much as I did, nor did I expect it to be so funny (in a relatable way). I tend to laugh in every emotion, so fair warning it might not be so funny to everyone. But, I love laughter through tears (unintended or not by the writers/producer--I am not sure) and this film more than delivered that for me.

    I really loved it.

    Con: Aaron Eckhart's hair. :|
Pro: Diane Wiest. I like her. :)

But I will always have a thing for Andy Garcia - I have ever since seeing The Untouchables in high school and all my friends said "Who was that guy?" about Kevin Costner and I said "No, who was that other guy?" re: Andy Garcia.

Concur on Andy Garcia (especially in Will & Grace :$:D), but also with your friends on Costner. I was crazy 'bout Costner in elementary/middle school--mostly from Dances with Wolves (still have not seen the part where Two Socks is shot--cannot do it). Tin Cup is definitely in my "top ten" favorite movies; Costner reminds me of my hunny and Russo, me. To be fair, I have at least 20 movies I count in my "top ten" depending on when we are talking and what we are talking about. :P

  8. Grumpy is great; I can see a line of those going quickly.

Where do you get your wood? I love VivaTerra and other eco-recycled home decor & furnishings. Not long ago, my husband drove by a new construction area and sadly, they had cut down some gorgeous, fat trees. He asked if he could have some of the pieces and the guys were great and chopped them down in thick ring slices for him to get in his truck. He is supposed to make me some cool chairs, loosely inspired by these but more elaborate/less "Hi, I am a stool". :D

If all goes well, I might commission him for more pieces. :P

I have about 12 things ready for a local Tulsa Art show.Of course, I only like about 3-4 of them. (like this one)

Sounds like an artist to me! I paint every so often and later throw out 98% of my works. It makes my friends and family angry, as they are always telling me they want it/do not throw it out. But, it will start to really bother me. Even if I put it out of sight, I know it is still there. I do not feel better until it is out of the house and in the garbage can. :S

Keep us posted on how the art show goes and keep the photos coming. :)

  10. I agree--not that anyone here cares. :P

But, I love a Goldwing. It is what I grew up on and have put more than 300k as a passenger on. So...

My family and my hunny all have Harleys now and that is fun, but not so much for me as a passenger after a couple hours. I have a motorcycle license, but I like riding as a passenger with my man. Sue me for trusting someone to do the work and let me just look around and enjoy the ride and the scenery.

  11. Yes, they would absolutely sell! And, I remember your fantastic Halloween pumpkins. :)
Have you looked into local art shows? We live in a very artsy beach town/s that has many upscale art galleries, shows, festivals and "art walks". Art walks are once/month and open to just about anyone. If your stuff sells enough, perhaps you might get a tent at an art festival for two days and possibly have your pieces commissioned for a gallery. As far as wood: I have seen tiki-post carvings and a ton of sea-life-inspired wood carvings that go anywhere from $75 to more than a thousand.

90% of our decor is original works. You could call me an art whore and I would not slap you. :P Some women want diamonds; I want art--mostly glass, metal sculpture and paintings. But, my hunny loves the wood stuff. We have an eclectic mix, but all ocean-inspired.

Ever carve a loggerhead sea turtle? :)

Anyway, if everyone is onboard with TSA and thinks they are doing a great job then I'll keep my complaining to myself. I can choose not to fly.

I understand both yours and Bill's points. It is different when you imagine_your_6-year-old daughter. I would have a hard time with that and agree with the position that if they all went through the scanner, it would be unnecessary to also pat down the little girl.

  13. I do not watch any other cooking shows.

What I like about TCM is the cheftestants are all professional chefs already well-established and respected in their field competing against each other for the charity of their choice.

It is the "best of the best" and for charity. I love the charity aspect because so many of the charities are ones I would gladly support myself.

  14. I have not seen this film and when I checked my planner for next week, I saw an entry for it to be airing Earth Day on PBS.

For anyone else interested, set your DVRs.

  15. I love this show.

I was drawn in unexpectedly the first season when two of my favorite chefs, Rick Bayless and Rick Moonen were master "cheftestants".

I am not familiar with any of the chefs from this season, but immediately had a great affinity for Suvir Saran. I am so glad he did not go home this last round, as he was the only one who should have by my estimation.

This Suvir-smitten kitten is excited to see what he and the rest of the chefs prepare next. :)

I am not saying for you, it has to be beets. But, when I was little I hated sauerkraut and did not try it again until a few years ago and discovered I like sauerkraut.

The only other thing to my recollection that produced such an averse reaction as you described would be the "coke bottle" gummie candies my hunny loves and buys whenever we go to my favorite, local "global" market. Fucking nasty; I do not know what he gets out of them.

  17. Cool! :)
In the off-season, I admit, I buy a jarred kind that just contains sliced beets and water, per the list of ingredients. They work just as well in the recipe and--again--are great for grazing when I am hungry and need a few bites of something. Other than my hearty breakfast, I am pretty much just snacking the rest of the day.

I sprinkle a bit on my salads that I have nearly every day,

I use sardines in place of cheese on a salad for a similar salty/texture flavor profile and great omega 3s.

Edit: Having said that, I have not peered into the cheese section at Costco in a long time and did not know they carry the Laura Chenel brand. Thanks!
