In whatever case, I always carry my gear into the room every evening and leave nothing in the car.

I assumed this would be a given. Do people really leave their gear in their cars?

Just a caution; you are not getting a random sample this way. In particular you are subjecting your analysis to a high degree of Self-selection bias.

Thank you I am aware of that, and the professor understands that given the time frame he gave us there will be some discrepancies with normal procedures. He is more worried that we understand the concepts then being completely accurate. Although, we are to explain how we would do things differently given proper time and resources.

On a side note I no longer need responses...thank you to those that did.

  5. I posted this on the Bonfire but I am not getting the response I need. I'm assuming there are many more like me that just normally avoid the Bonfire so I am posting this here as well. It is somewhat skydiving related so Mr/Mrs Mod please let it remain here.

    I am doing a project for my business statistics class and need a random sample of 40 skydivers (20 male, 20 female) to answer two questions for me. Please send me an email to [email protected], or PM me here or just post a reply answering;

    1) What Gender are you? (Male or Female)
    2) Have you ever done or seriously considered doing a BASE jump? (Yes or No)

I will post when to stop submissions for each gender when I hit 20 results. Thank you for your help.

  6. I am sampling two different populations of skydivers. A local (4 state) group, and a national (somewhat global) group.
Also it's a summer course with less then a week to do this project so I'm not too worried about complete accuracy

Six held in pizza delivery robbery

    Story date: July 31, 2008

    Stick-up a ‘set-up,’ investigators say
    By Adam Franks
    Reporter
Investigators with the Russellville Police Department are holding six suspects, including one minor, at the Pope County Detention Center in connection with the armed robbery of a Papa John’s Pizza delivery man.
Markique L. Collins, 23; Brandon J. Peoples, 19; Jimmie J. Qualls, 19; Winston C. Seals Jr., 19; Justin D. Thompson, 19; and the minor appeared before District Judge Don Bourne at a bond hearing Wednesday morning. Bourne set individual bonds for Collins, Qualls, Thompson and the minor at $20,000. The bonds for Seals and Peoples were set at $10,000 each.
Russellville Police Department Det. Mark Frost testified at the hearing Papa John’s received a large order late Tuesday night from a number traced back to Collins’ cell phone. The order was confirmed by a female later identified by investigators as Qualls. Upon arrival at a North Parker Road residence, the Papa John’s driver was accosted by six individuals, one of whom brandished a gun, Frost continued. Three of the suspects took items from the driver at gunpoint, including the pizza, a bottle of Sprite and the driver’s cell phone, Frost testified.
After the driver made contact with the RPD, officers arrived at a North Jackson Avenue residence to confront the suspects, who matched descriptions provided by the driver, Frost said. Officers recovered empty pizzas boxes and a bottle of Sprite from the residence, although no gun was located, Frost said. The driver’s cell phone was found in Thompson’s possession, Frost added.
Frost indicated it is unclear which specific suspects held the gun and took the items from the driver, but said it was a premeditated robbery.
“Based on information received in interviews, this was a set-up,” Frost said.
Should formal charges be filed by the prosecuting attorney’s office, the five adult suspects will appear in Pope County Circuit Court on Aug. 25. If the minor is charged as an adult, he or she will also appear in circuit court Aug. 25.

UNACCEPTABLE!!!!! As stated...I will only accept cashier's check or money order from a magor US bank in the exact amount of purchase or Paypal. I am finding that shipping to the UK with FedEx is about $150. If you wish to use a money order, send me $1050 and once my bank clears it I will ship the canopy. You will have to negotiate payment from your client seperately.

Are you wanting to buy it?
    Where will it ship to?
What is your method of payment? I will only accept cashier's check or money order from a magor US bank in the exact amount of purchase or Paypal.
Due to your dz.com profile being only a few days old and void of any info, I am leery of your interest. Something screams SCAM to me. Please make me feel more confident.

    Howdy,
I am firm on the price of $900, however I will negotiate with shipping. I
will split shipping to anywhere in the lower 48. I took more pictures to
show the label, the new lines, and 2 of the the repair patch (one to show
the size of it and one close up). The pic of the new lines also shows the
    slinks I'm throwing in.

i was a strong advocate for you to be on IH and because of the stupid rules by donkeyboy Alex I left that fourm after he would not allow you in.
I will see what i can do to get you a video if there is one done.
My wonderfull girlfriend christina still is a member of IH and is posting this thread there for all to read.

Anyone intrested in joining the IH or Industrialhaze skydiving fourm should go to.
www.visionairpro.com and click on the IH link, then ask for permission to join.. you will be denided unless you have jumped at the "local" dz's that this fourm serves.. but please don't let that stop you from bugging the owner Alex.

Piss and moan all you want Joe...the rule was voted on by all the members that cared to vote on it...it was not my decision. Personally I would've let him in. A friend of mine in Z-Hills got turned down for the same reason. Most of the members refuse to let IH turn into another dz.com. I prefer to run it (for the most part) democratically.

And thank you for those kind words my brother. I'm sure Jesus is just so proud of your ordainship.

  11. I'm curious what kind of pricing structures different dzs have on what their retail price is and how much the videographer, and editor get paid. This is not in addition to still photographry.
    For instance;
Small dz w/ C-182 going to 9500' - Retail is $65. $20 covers the videographers slot, $25 for the videographer which includes the editting/burning, and $20 profit to the DZO. Stills pricing is between the photographer and the tandem student.

How does this compare with others? We are also in the process of incorporating inclusive and exclusive hand-cam video.

Oh yeah we have to provide our own supplies.
